I'm on here because I am desperate!!

I've been seaching to get the new car for myself for last 2 months and obviously I haven't had much of the lucks.

What am I looking for?? I FELL in love with 370z like love at first sight since the first time i saw it: however, I am still opened mind for any suggestion.

These are the criterias that I am after:

- 370Z (that best i would love to) 350GT or 370GT (will be high considered as well).

- Manual (no offended to any Auto drivers out there but this kind of car I'm keen for manual).

- Color: I will consider any color EXCEPT White and Yellow (I know it's hard to find and i'm still picky).

- Nice Rims and Exhausts will be high privileges.

And I will do need clear descriptions for dummy as I don't speak car language and please feel free to acknowledge me with any car knowledges because I am telecom engineer BUT i am quite clueless with cars :however, I love to have a nice car that I can enjoy to indulge my adrenaline rush addiction. SO HELP ME PLZZZZZ

Thank you for any advices and suggestion in advance :D

Here's a nice 370GT - same engine...

2007, 22,300km, manual, it's in Victoria but there are people here in Syd who could help make the blue slipping process easier.

Or, if you're willing to go white (it's a nice pearl white, not a flat white), there are a couple of white ones in Sydney with low kms, however while they're listed as private sales, they look to be traders. In fact, they look to be from the same trader and if I'm not mistaken, a trader that doesn't have a particularly good rep.

Oh and welcome to SAU :)

@34GeeTeeTee & God_Speed : i went to have a look on that one.

Forgot to mention that my budget is 45K .. The owner of that car didnt really negotiate much with price as its only 14000km.

also yeah the white ones you guys mentioned are all the same car and its actually a trader, jimmy at sports Auto group in burwood.

he took her for a test drive last week and now wont stop ringing her, even I get a missed call from him now and then for reasons unknown. Oh well, wont be getting the car through him i dont think..

Did you get anyone to check out the red on in Melbourne?

@Cowboy1600 : Hi good to see you at last ..I read your comments from @hamiltonau... thanks for all advices :)

And NO i haven't had anyone to check that one out for me...Though, I was in Melbourne last Tuesday for work and got chance to check out on ONE in Bordeaux colour as I originally wanted.. However, the Bordeaux doesn't look as nice as the brochure and it was taken.. And i didn't have any chance to check out RED..

Why most nice cars are in Victoria for??? Anyone volunteer to go down and get it with me PLZZZZZZZZZZZZZ??

@God_Speed & Humbla : Thank you for warm welcome

@Genelle I'm looking forward for next time to see you too...

Already been down to melbourne to drive a car back. Was good fun actually, just need plenty of good music and preferably cruise control, to get you through o nthe hume on the way back. Could've come back through the snowy but didn't want to risk it in a car I'd only known for about 8 hours...

^ soft!

i would have been going through the alpine way like i was Tiff Needell or Johan Kankunnen...which reminds me of that time i nearly understeered my Audi A4 off the road on the way down to Jindabyne from Thredbo..probably a good thing i drive trains for a living and dont transport other peoples cars :P

heres the latest car sales list of the nine manuals in NSW

http://www.carsales....~1&sort=default

the only one with mods is at the top and while he has dropped his price a little its not by much, the black 48.5k guy got back to me this morning, seems keen to sell and says he had an offer of 48k cash so could just be fishing for more.

Im starting to think someone really needs to look at that red one in VIC with the TE37s and exhaust..oh wait i cant find it. guess it was sold :/

there is this one

http://www.carsales....e:45000,60000~1

not sure about that white stripe across the top though..

or this one in QLD if we can get the price down a little

http://www.carsales....~1&sort=default

edit/

crazy bodykit car in QLD below has sold, like literally today.

http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/nissan-370z-2010-12256743?base=1216&vertical=Car&cr=4&eapi=2&__N=1216%201622%201246%201247%201252%201282%204294963846%204294776694%20900&silo=Stock&Range=Price:45000,60000~1&sort=default

damn, it would have been sweet but yeah. Still not sure about that kit from the rear..

Or that time you nearly understeered off Mac pass

Would love to be able to drive like Tiff.

There's no such thing as understeer when driving a train is there Pat

unless youre Keanu in Speed

Yeah he is amazing, oh and speed was a bus not a train, I used to drive Those as well and they DO under steer.. Trains however, not a bit, in fact they corner almost as well as if they are on rails!

(I know, groan)

Wow I totally forgot about the train sequence, about as realistic as the bus making that jump really. Didn't mind the movie at the time but wow it looks dated now.

Anyway why is it so hard to find a modded 370?

Melbourne and Cruise Control... been there and done that... didn't touch the accelator or break for 2+ hours purely on cruise control..almost fall sleep..

:(

Silver with 65000km and $52,000 >>> I would rather go back to that Gun Metalic.. at least it's only 14,000km and it's Gun Metallic.

The White Stripe and soft top......... Come on Patty you know my preferences better than that..

BUT this http://www.carsales....~1&sort=default the price ticked ,the kilometers ticked and the color is acceptable .. THE problem is it's in QLD and it has super gay kit at rear.. (i'm sorry but i hate it) ....anyway, it's high considered tho..guess i can just take that kit out, can't i???

And yes that RED in Melbourne....Can someone please go have a look for me please? if it is still out there...i'll DO whatever it takes to repay...

And yes the NEARLY understeered off Mac pass .... tell me about it LOL..

Speed ...love that movie...Keanu with that skinny head is the most good looking Eurasian of all time...

    • The average previous owner for these cars were basically S-chassis owners in the US. Teenagers or teenager-adjacent. I often tell people that neglect is easier to fix than something that was actively "repaired" by previous owners.
    • Update 3: Hi all It's been a while. Quite a lot of things happened in the meantime, among other things the car is (almost) back together and ready to be started again. Things that I fixed or changed: Full turbo removal, fitting back the OEM turbo oil hardlines. Had to do quite a bit of research and parts shopping to get every last piece that I need and make it work with the GT2860 turbos, but it does work and is not hard to do. Proves that the previous owner(s) just did not want to. While I was there I set the preload for the wastegates to 0,9bar to hopefully make it easier for the tuner to hit the 370hp I need for the legal inspections that will follow later on. Boost can always go up if necessary. Fitted a AN10 line from the catch can to the intake hose to make the catchcan and hopefully the cam covers a slight vacuum to have less restrictive oil returns from the head and not have mud build up as harshly in the lines and catch can. Removed the entire front interior just shy of the dashboard itself to clean up some of the absolutely horrendous wiring, (hopefully) fix the bumpy tacho and put in LED bulbs while I was there. Also put in bulbs where there was none before, like the airbag one. I also used that chance to remove the LED rpm gauge on the steering column, which was also wired in absolute horror show fashion. Moved the 4in1 Prosport gauge from sitting in front of the OEM oil pressure gauge to the center console vents, I used a 3D printed vent piece to hold that gauge there. The HKB steering wheel boss was likely on incorrectly as I sometimes noticed the indicator reset being uneven for left vs. right. In the meantime also installed an airbag delete resistor, as one should. Installed Cube Speed premium short shifter. Feels pretty nice, hope it'll work great too when I actually get to drive. Also put on a fancy Dragon Ball shift knob, cause why not. My buddy was kind enough to weld the rust hole in the back, it was basically rusted through in the lowermost corner of the passenger side trunk area where the wheel arch, trunk panel and rear quarter all meet. Obviously there is still a lot of crustiness in various areas but as long as it's not rusted out I'll just treat and isolate the corrosion and pretend it's not there. Also had to put down a new ground wire for the rear subframe as the original one was BARELY there. Probably a bit controversial depending on who you ask about this... but I ended up just covering the crack in the side of the engine block, the one above the oil feed, with JB Weld. I used a generous amount and roughed up the whole area with a Dremel before, so I hope this will hold the coolant where it should be for the foreseeable future. Did a cam cover gasket job as the half moons were a bit leaky, and there too one could see the people who worked on this car before me were absolute tools. The same half moons were probably used like 3 times without even cleaning the old RTV off. Dremeled out the inside of the flange where the turbine housing mates onto the exhaust manifolds so the diameter matches, as the OEM exhaust manifolds are even narrower than the turbine housings as we all know. Even if this doesn't do much, I had them out anyways, so can't harm. Ideally one would port-match both the turbo and the manifold to the gasket size but I really didn't feel up to disassembling the turbine housings. Wrapped turbo outlet dumps in heat wrap band. Will do the frontpipe again as well as now the oil leak which promted me to tear apart half the engine in the first place is hopefully fixed. Fitted an ATI super damper to get rid of the worn old harmonic balancer. Surely one of the easiest and most worth to do mods. But torquing that ARP bolt to spec was a bitch without being able to lock the flywheel. Did some minor adjustments in the ECU tables to change some things I didn't like, like the launch control that was ALWAYS active. Treated rusty spots and surface corrosion on places I could get to and on many spots under the car, not pretty or ideal but good enough for now. Removed the N1 rear spats and the carbon surrounding for the tailpipe to put them back on with new adhesive as the old one was lifting in many spots, not pretty. Took out the passenger rear lamp housing... what do you know. Amateur work screwed me again here as they were glued in hard and removing it took a lot of force, so I broke one of the housing bolts off. And when removing the adhesive from the chassis the paint came right off too. Thankfully all the damaged area won't be visible later, but whoever did the very limited bodywork on this car needs to have their limbs chopped off piece by piece.   Quite a list if I do say so myself, but a lot of time was spent just discovering new shit that is wrong with the car and finding a solution or parts to fix it. My last problem that I now have the headache of dealing with is that the exhaust studs on the turbo outlets are M10x1.25 threaded, but the previous owner already put on regular M10 nuts so the threads are... weird. I only found this out the hard way. So now I will just try if I can in any way fit the front pipe regardless, if not I'll have to redo the studs with the turbos installed. Lesson learned for the future: Redo ALL studs you put your hands on, especially if they are old and the previous owners were inept maniacs. Thanks for reading if you did, will update when the engine runs again. Hope nothing breaks or leaks and I can do a test drive.
