Had a great day driving a lemon, well done to Mr Wootten came out on top in the tricky wet conditions. I think the R31 lemon really proved it self today with over 100 laps for testing and placing 5th and 6th outright for the day. Big thanks to all involved in organising the track day.

I hope the weather gets better by next week, or we may all need snow tyres, two of the cars in our team have snow plough front diffusers

Doing 10-15 laps in a road going R35 on the race track...Wow. All the NSW guys do maximum 3-4 laps in a session anything more than that and your bound to have issue and hurt things. I over heat the tyres after 1 hot lap so my usual track run is 1 warm up, 1 flying lap, cool down lap, 1 flying lap then cool down lap and pits. What fluid you using in the transmission?

Quite funny reading some of the comments what people think and believe about R35's.... Till you have driven a R35 on the track you will never own an older GTR, cant beat the felling of power sliding an AWD R35 while pulling the paddle shift to select the next gear. From the 3 nsw 2009 modle R35 that have done several supersprint, time attack and drag events none have had transmission problems all are modified and run around 400kw @ the wheels. Just change the tranmission fluid every two track days. We all have used aftermarket fuilds in our cars that cost $260 for the 10L. Not sure why but Nissan do not have a listing for replacment filters in the R35 transmission, they just change the fluid and thats it. I bought some aftermarket transmission filters, dropped the pan and replaced them and got solinoids cleaned. filter are about $500 and done this when i got to 30,000km. Have not had any other issue with my 2009 car that dose get driving very hard as most of you would know.

Thanks correct, have you entered for next year now? Also anyone else thinking of doing any of the rounds i would get your registration form in asap so you dont miss out. only taking the first 200 and last year runners get priority.

No weight saving in my R35 has full trim just took the baby seats out for Time Attack. This is the main problem with R35's the tyres go like jelly due to the weight. There is no way i can do more than 1 lap on the soft A050 tyres.

Done the whole event on 1 set of Advan A050, Nothing left of the tyres pushing a 1750kg GTR around for 20 laps over the 2 days. I know but as soon you drive a R35 on the track you will want to all the time. When I got my R35 I said will leave it near stock and do one or two track days a year for some fun. That soon changed when a few little mods get added and makes your full race car look slow. My full trim street R35 on DOT tyres is faster than my Corvette Z06 race car on full slicks You can tell yourself all you want it's for street use only but it wont stay that way....

Your point is correct easy to get 400kw on e85 with a rb26. Now take it to the track drive it on its limits on formula R tyres. Unless you spend 30k to build a rb26 correctly with a dry sump you will have an issue over time. Buy the time you buy a nice R34 and build a good set up to be reliable cost the same as a r35.... I think most people have a different understanding of reliable track car to me... Anyone can slap together a 400kw road car that can make dyno number that's not hard.

To maintain the upkeep of a R34 with 400kw at the wheels would cost more than servicing an R35. The R35 makes 400kw with a flash tune and is reliable on the race track. Cant say I have seen to many RB's with that power be reliable at the track....
