8sec GTR LOL

Hey guys this was posted on NS.com today jsut thought i would share it with the skyline guys.

FBI in SA have clamied they have just bought a 8sec GTR from Japan for 60k

The car has full street trim, no roll cage and has LOW MOUNT turbos 8sec GTR my ass.

Call me a newb in mechanical terms but WHY is it not possible to run 8's with low mount turbos? I'm sure there are some pretty kickass low mount turbos around?

you cant fit 2 big hp turbos to flow enough hp for a 8sec pass in low pos, even 9sec cars have massive high mounts like 3037s and 3040's

Nice to know! Learn something new everyday...is it right for me to assume that the lowest time on the best/biggest power lowmounts would be in the 10's then?

Theoretically a car equipt with GT-RS's should be able to do a 9 second pass. But having said that I don't know of any low mount setups that do better than mid 10s - low mount as being defined by a turbo mounted lower than the exhaust ports on the head and having an internal wastegate setup. I know you can get off the shelf low mount manifolds for the Greddy TD0x/T67 series but they need a wastegate or two.

that car isnt 8 seconds. for one itstill has trim,low mount,stock plenum etc. id love to see if it even pulls low 10's on street tyres
