Next Happylaps session is confirmed!

Venue: Queensland Raceway

Date: Sunday October 21st - 7:00 ARRIVAL - 7:30 BREAKFAST - 8:15 TRACK TIME

NOTE: This is your initiation to gain access to our members only Lakeside Happylaps events - Limited to 30 cars

New Happy Laps Rules

1. Participants must meet minimum age requirements for being on track. Minimum age: 12yrs old.

2. No overtaking in the first 2 laps.

3. The overtaking car is responsible for completing the overtaking move safely.

4. Overtaking is only permitted on straights, unless clearly waved passed by the car in front.

5. Overtaking move must be completed well before the end of the straight, and the car being overtaken must be given plenty of room.

6. Cars should not be more than 2 abreast at any point on the track.

7. Be aware of cars around you, in front and behind (and beside when being overtaken).

8. Do not assume that the car in front of you knows you are there.

Lakeside Specific Rules

9. Members only.

10. Members must have completed at least ONE QR Happy Laps sessions before participating in a Lakeside session.

11. No overtaking or cars side by side through the kink.

Once we are at the track, we shall have breakfast, followed by 30 minutes of play time on the track.

Breakfast will consist of;

Sausages

Bacon

Egg

Beans

Toast

Payment is on the day - CASH ONLY

Members: $35

Non-members: $50

As per the previous events, If you are going on track as a driver, as a passenger or you're just spectating and joining us for the meal, you must pay the same as everyone else

If you have people coming as passengers then simply say you have a +1 ect, if you have a +1 who would also like to drive on track then please specify as there IS a limit to the number of cars on track :thumbsup:

damn would love to go but says ya need at least one qr happy laps session completed before going on lakeside track in the rules :unsure: n i havent done one yet...

Yup, count me in too. Will bring the clubby along as I am not fortunate enough to own a Skyline......yet. Still looking.

Quick question. Is that age limit for passengers in the car as well? My boy came with me on the All Australian happy laps at Lakeside and had a ball. Just checking. :-)

Haha yea mate, you cant drive out there without a drivers licence.

How old is your boy?

his son is turning 10 in november. he was just wondering if his son can be a passenger in the car? btw, ffh4500 is my stepfather incase any1 was wondering

Im happy to make an exception for your boy mate.

If he had been 6 or so then it may have been a different story, but in addition to him being out on track before, its fine.

If you want to confirm whether it will be just you or not then I shall update the list

      Thanks for doing that Duncan! Makes you a good person in my books. We don't get kangaroos or wombats here. But we have bats and it's similar. AFAIK it's often the mums with a baby attached that get hit because they drop lower when starting from a tree.       My dream is also to have a proper hoist, but I don't think it will ever happen. My quickjack is probably as close as I'll ever get, it really is very good though.

      Yeah we keep on in the dailies, it is pretty poor how many animals get hit and the driver leaves without checking....have saved a couple of little ones over the years. Bit of a gruesome job though, pouches generally need to be cut open because they are so tight and often the joey doesn't realise mum is gone so they are still locked onto the teat. I checked the modules in front of the DS wheel where an oil cooler should go.... There is the radar unit - that can go for race use) One of the 2 HX water pumps, the silver cylinder. That needs to be kept but might be able to be relocated But the bad news, the big computer mounted vertically in front of the wheel (blocking any potential air exit) is the electric steering computer. That is required until/unless i do a hydraulic steering conversion, and in CAD based modern car design it is not like I can just pop a big unit like that somewhere else (plus the loom would be too short anywhere else too). So, the passenger side is OK to clear out (just use a smaller washer reservoir, potentially elsewhere), but the DS no beuno

      Well, all the best with the new camry It was interesting to hear about the UK process, it is generally a lot more streamlined here with a shipping agent looking after all the import side (noting the exact final price can still be a surprise.....) and I've used a few different brokers on the japan (or US) side, and never had any trouble with any of them....luck of the draw I guess. You mentioned you didn't get the auction sheet (understandable since you bought it from a dealer, not auction), but I always try and get hold of that because they are pretty thorough. I've imported 2x R grade vehicles over the years and both were fine, repairs in Japan are pretty thorough compared to here in Oz.

      BTW I measured the jack I have, it is 70mm at the saddle but you only have about 700 until it returns to 150mm high at the cylinder so it is good but no magic bullet.
