As a part of pro fabrication I've now got an employee doing all of our Motorsport wiring looms in house.

Using high end Materials we have begun putting together drop in harness' for Nissan models that would be in demand.

The S chassis is one such vehicle but of more interest is the GTR.

These are bare essential looms and so far we have decided to include.

Attessa control unit & outputs to ecu

Provisions for ABS to be operational

All front and rear lights operational

circuit breaker unit (no fuse boxes)

Factory indicator stalk

Lights etc on switch pannel

3x fuel pump power feeds to boot

Blower fan or heated screen power

Thermo fan supply

Ignition key

And a couple of other small incidentals.

I'd like input from people interested in these as to what other things they'd like to see either fully wired or atleast provisions provided within to harness.

Things like electric steering pumps etc

We are using deutsch connectors exclusively and supplying the harness with a "mill spec" connection on the fire wall or grommet for the budget conscious, no cheap conduit cover either, everything is done using tech flex braid and sealed with shink tube at the ends.

the 3 skylines, 1 s15 and lotus exige that have been done have all been very affordable as far as custom professional wiring looms go.

Interested. Running an Apexi Djetro but will soonish change this... however the car is going well and I have tweaked it a bit.... anyway enough rambling. i was going to change the complete loom anyway for a NOS loom. So interested and will buy in the next month or so.

Edit - just realised you not talking about ecu loom. Sorry, interested in ecu loom made out of tefzel/braid.

We have done a number of custom GTR engine looms recently to suit specific requirements.

Tefzel and tech flex braid with deutsch connectors is not a problem. Raychem shrink can be used if the budget permits.

Yes we can do a tefzel ingnition lead with austere deutsch plug and oem coil plugs

Can you let me know a price sent to Christchurch, NZ please for a R32 GT-R one.(Not sure if they differ between models)

Your looking at $330aud for a complete coil pack loom supplied with new Nissan plugs, braided wiring protection and deutsch connectors for the power and ground supply.

(you will just need to cut the Nissan plug off your cars look and solder the deutsch pins on for the power/ground plug)

Did this go ahead futher, and what was the approximate price?

Some other things worth allowing for:

  • Accessory power for rally safe/terra trip/camera power supply.
  • Seperate circuit, battery, wiring for intercom (no interferance)
  • Seperate circuits for everything to ensure one dead one doesn't kill others.
  • Power for boost controller, power steering, dash/gauges, lap timer
  • Horn circuit, power windows, heated screen required for rally cars
  • Fuel level sender and warning light

Sounds like you need to drop your nugget off for a rewire Duncan.

Actually I've seen the looms in your car and it could do with a freshen up.

Engine looms start at $660 and can go up to $1500 for one with the works. That's using detusch connectors and quality wire/braided sheath.

Full looms for the skyline start at $1500 and can run up to 3k for something like a motec/awd install.

    • There's restrictor pills in the stock boost control hoses. That's how they set the amount that was bled off and hence the "high" boost setting. The usual mod in the day was to remove it and send the "high" boost setting up to about 14 psi.
    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.
    • Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful
