Hey guys,

Ive noticed recently as soon as i hit 60kph i start getting a humming/whining noise from the rear, it is there whether in gear or not so i know its not the gearbox, and doesnt change if under acceleration or deceleration.

When i get to about a 100 i cant really hear it anymore i think mostly because the road/tyre noise is louder.

Is there anyway of distinguishing whether its the wheel bearings or diff.

Cheers

Patrick

Turn hard to the left then the right with a bit of speed, if its a wheel bearing it will get louder as you load it up by throwing all the cars weight to that side.

Thats a good start, i have definatley rectified wheel bearing issues this way, mostly front ones though, its probably herder to load up the rear.
