Willis
Tonight i replaced the tailshaft seal on my RB25DET Gearbox.. upon removal using a screw driver i (or someone before me) nicked up the housing on which the seal sits. I'm under the impression that it should be fine? Thoughts? I searched also .. couldn't find any threads here or on google that show damage similar.. either that's because it's not crucial (i hope). The damage; With the seal fitted; Images of the seal. Dobz
Its not scratched on the sealing surface so it will be ok. You need a proper seal pulling tool or something with a strudy hook on it so you can yank the old seal out without damaging anything. GTSBoy
You can make something suitable out of a couple of bent spoons (not serious, but you get the idea - some flat bar with bent (and smoothed) ends and a block of wood or something to sandwich in between so you can grip and pull.)
