Hey guys,

I'm driving a manual R33 Gtst Series 2. The engine is completely stock except the Apexi air filter and the Nismo exhaust system fitted by the previous owner. Recently, I've been having problems with the car when accelerating.

To begin with, when starting the engine, everything seems fine until I put in 1st gear and accelerate. The rev meter goes up but nothing happens for 2-3 seconds before the gear drops in and it starts to drive as usual. This happens when I'm in 1st or 2nd gear. I've looked it up on google and I've found that there are few possibilities contributing to the lag in acceleration.

This could be caused by:

1) Blockage in air filter

2) Blockage in throttle body

3) Weak batteries (Not too sure)

4) Worn spark plugs

5) Transmission

I'm sure there are few other possibilities causing this. I then decided to look into the forum as I'm sure there are some skyline owners facing the same problem previously as well. True enough, I found few topics covering it. Unfortunately, they do not give any conclusion or solutions to this problem. I really do hope that you guys can show me a direction as to where to focus on. Need to at least have an idea before sending it to the workshops.

Thank you guys in advance.

Thanks guys. I think that should be it. I rarely encounter such problems but sometimes I have problems shifting from 2nd to 3rd gear. Rarely tho. Thank you so much. So what would be the remedy to slipping clutch? Which part should be replaced specifically?

Thanks again, guys.

I'm driving a manual. Sure. I'm planning to bring it to a mechanic in the next few days. Anyway, thank you so much for directing me. Really appreciate it. Was getting really worried cause I had no idea what was happening until now.
