Hi Guys,

Just wanted to say a special thank you to the organizers and volunteers who helped make the weekend a great success.

Although I did not compete at Wakefield but went to watch on the Friday, there seemed to be plenty of track time with nice cars and well behaved drivers on board.

The Airport run was very well organized once the cold snap dissappeared lol, There seemed to be quite a few spectators turning out and we all had ample runs even though we probably shifted 3 ton of Blue Metal Gravel onto the grass. Some even tried to race the plane.

The Show & Shine was well represented and seemed to have a heavy flow of people coming an going, and great looking cars of all models.

Once again many thanks to the organizers

A job well done

Regards

Ray

Thanks for this Ray. I was meaning to post up a thread in our section and just haven't gotten around to it.

Hats off to Ash and Steve for all their long hours and dedication putting this together. They were the core duo that got the venues, sponsors and financial logistics sorted. I think everyone will agree that it's a premium event from start to finish. I'm proud to be a part of it. SteveO spent two crazy days as course marshal and burnt to a crisp! What a legend!

NSW handled the Wakie and Aiport event logistics for sign on, tech and conducting the day. Big thanks to Sean & Josh for assisting on tech inspection. Luke, Tats and Andrew for sign-on and general help all round at wakie and airport as well as our merch stand on Sunday. And of course thanks to Nick for making the trek to bring us the jackets cause we nearly sold out on the first day.

Huge thanks to SAU Vic for managing the show-n-shine. Again, was such a professional gig.

Most know I had my own dramas going on but was so great seeing the club atmosphere in its element. Lots of people helping each other, people borrowing tools or parts to keep running and lots of smiles and great people.

And when you look at the times from the top 1/3 of the entrants, well truly impressive! I was doing 1:11 which is normally top 1/3 but I think I was only about the mid way point! And of course we were still also open and accomodating for all the first timers too. Our club is so great for that!

Cheers to all that came to participate and/or watch.

    • Ha ha ha, that's fair mate! We have the crackhead dogs now. Mainly because the missus wants the crazy dogs while she still has the energy and capacity to be able to keep up with them! Ha ha our current two are both Working GSD, there brothers and sisters (from the same litters) are in Police, Corrective Services, and I believe one did end up in defence force too. They're wild and fun, yet right now, both curled up asleep on the lounge room floor while we watch some TV. Mal is very likely the next dog (unless I get my couch potato guardian dog 😛 )   What are your Kitties names? Are you planning some house work, like those high kitty shelves, built in scratching post, and some cat passages from one room to another room?
    • Maine Coone, did look at but to big and fluffy As for performance dogs, we had Mals at work, performance dogs are fun to watch, but, way to much work for this old rooster
    • Yep, it was only an option on the Q50 Hybrid.  Same in Japan as far as I know. And doesn't use a centre diff like the Suby's do, so not the same as the WRX.  But it also isn't a reactive AWD like other Nissan AWD vehicles are, eg. Murano/Xtrail/etc.
    • You should have got a Maine Coone then. Only thing is they're big. But so cool, and just like a dog. Or, just get yourself a high performance dog. That'll teach you for wanting Parkour indoors 😛
    • Are you thinking of Bens R32? I don't remember if his went through the bonnet itself, but it went through the chassis rail. Brad (RISKIN) bought it, and turned it into a track car. It's funny how anti people are of Jim Berry now. I remember when I pulled mine out (during an engine change) and inspected it and found it cracking badly. At that point in time so many people were even on SAU, were so pro Jim Berry, and that was after Bens GTR exploded his quite publically.
