End Of Year Wollongong Via Royal National Park Cruise- Sat Night, Dec15Th

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys, i run H.R (High Rolla SYD), i'm organising an End Of Year Invite Only Cruise through the famous Royal National Park, we'll be ending at Wollongong Harbour over the other side of the point to the Lighhouse. I am extending this invitation to SAU Forum members to attend, it'd be great to have you come along! Here are the finer details:

DATE: Saturday Night, 15th December

MEET WHERE: Holsworthy Train Station Carpark (use the Carpark Closest to the Roundabout)

MEET TIME: from 7:15PM

WE LEAVE @ 7:45PM (7:50PM the Latest)

HOW TO FIND THE MEET: Turn Right at the Roundabout off Heathcote Rd. past Moorebank Sports Club- onto Marcarthur Drive... Train Station Carpark is Located on The Boulevard- take a right @ the 1st roundabout on Macarthur Drive!

Cruise Route on Google Maps: http://goo.gl/maps/bMHxJ

Although our Group is a mix of performance/modified vehicles from different manufatures (JDM to Prestige), our rules are simple: its a Cruise, NOT a Race. Although its a Saturday Night, that's no excuse to Cut Sick through the National Park... Use your common sense; so No BS, No Hooning, No cutting sick & No acting up!! Our aim is to promote the car scene in a positive way, so lets give it a good name by following those rules, as we (Car Enthusiasts) have had too much negative attention from the media lately as it is. Cheers :)

REMINDER:

- Fill up a full tank as we won't be stoppping!

Hi guys, great to see some interest for the Cruise next Saturday Night ;)

On our end at H.R, we usually have between 30-50 cars come out... which is a decent sized crowd, not too big- compared to other cruises i've been too!

See everyone who is coming along Next Satuday Night :action-smiley-069:

Looking like we have nice numbers for Saturday Nights Cruise :)

Just an UPDATE, we had to Change the MEET POINT (due to being advised that the Sports Club will most likely be packed)!

Here are the UPDATED details:

MEET WHERE: Holsworthy Train Station Carpark (use the Carpark Closest to the Roundabout)

MEET TIME: from 7:15PM

WE LEAVE @ 7:45PM (7:50PM the Latest)

HOW TO FIND THE MEET: Turn Right at the Roundabout off Heathcote Rd. past Moorebank Sports Club- onto Marcarthur Drive... Train Station Carpark is Located on The Boulevard- take a right @ the 1st roundabout on Macarthur Drive!

To confirm.... We are doing the whole of Royal National Park, from Start to Finish (at Stanwell Tops) then on to Wollongong! ;)

Cruise is Going Ahead 100% at this Stage, weather forecast is looking great for us Tonight :D

Just A Reminder:

It's a Cruise, NOT a Race!!! Please take it easy going through the Royal National Park... Everyone knows its easy to get sideways or do a skid, your not impressing anyone. Hit up a track days, etc if you want to 'Cut Sik', lets keep it off the street & give the modified car scene a good name! Cheers :)

PLEASE FILL UP A FULL TANK BEFORE THE CRUISE, AS WE WONT BE STOPPING!!!

dont know if I found the right cruise or not....we left it a bit late so we just cruised through the natio hoping to find yas...ended up finding a pretty big crew...but we were the only skyline lol....lots of evos....

nah I had a silver one...went down to the wharf area near the lighthouse for a bit but left pretty early as I didnt want to hang around too long waiting for coppers.

    • Yeah, it's getting like that, my daughter is coming over on Thursday to help me remove the bonnet so I can install the Carbuilders underbonnet stuff,  I might get her to give me a hand and remove the hardtop, maybe, because on really hot days the detachable hardtop helps the aircon keep the interior cool, the heat just punches straight through to rag top I also don't have enough hair for the "wind in the hair" experience, so there is that....LOL
    • Could be falling edge/rising edge is set wrong. Are you getting sync errors?
    • On BMWs what I do because I'm more confident that I can't instantly crush the pinch welds and do thousands of USD in chassis damage is use a set of rubber jacking pads designed to protect the chassis/plastic adapter and raise a corner of the car, place the aforementioned 2x12 inch wooden planks under a tire, drop the car, then this normally gives me enough clearance to get to the front central jack point. If you don't need it to be a ramp it only needs to be 1-1.5 feet long. On my R33 I do not trust the pinch welds to tolerate any of this so I drive up on the ramps. Before then when I had to get a new floor jack that no longer cleared the front lip I removed it to get enough clearance to put the jack under it. Once you're on the ramps once you simply never let the car down to the ground. It lives on the ramps or on jack stands.
    • Nah. You need 2x taps for anything that you cannot pass the tap all the way through. And even then, there's a point in response to the above which I will come back to. The 2x taps are 1x tapered for starting, and 1x plug tap for working to the bottom of blind holes. That block's port is effectively a blind hole from the perspective of the tap. The tapered tap/tapered thread response. You don't ever leave a female hole tapered. They are supposed to be parallel, hence the wide section of a tapered tap being parallel, the existince of plug taps, etc. The male is tapered so that it will eventually get too fat for the female thread, and yes, there is some risk if the tapped length of the female hole doesn't offer enough threads, that it will not lock up very nicely. But you can always buzz off the extra length on the male thread, and the tape is very good at adding bulk to the joint.
    • Nice....looking forward to that update
