tadrosone
Hey guys, I will be joining the V-Club soon after owning an evo for a few years, and felt the need to split up my daily and track requirements. I've been looking through the cars that are for sale and there are quite a few variations. Im basically after a 07/08 model around the 30-35k mark. Cant wait to join the club! on a side note here's a picture of my old car. Cheers! colin.ssc
Are you importing or buying in the local market? Importing takes time and patience but saves you some money. Are you looking for a coupe or sedan? I guess for both models you're better off looking for SP models or at the least S. If you like a decent sound system, find one with Bose option. It's not up to my standard but it'll do for now I guess. The factory Bose amp is pretty decent. Sub is not punchy enough IMO. Speakers are 3-way for fronts. IMO it's missing some high mids. I've been told the coupes are better. For sedans try looking for one with an option for 4WAS. Mine didn't come from with it and not a lot of sedans will have it. Black will cost 3-5k more, sunroof another 2k? Only 10% of them have sunroof. V36 sedans start from 2007...3.5l with 5 spd gearbox. 2008 onwards are 3.7l with 7 spd gearbox but the extra 50kg in weight evens the extra power out. Coupes starts 2008? are all 3.7l with 6spd manual or 7spd auto. 07 models of both sedan n coupes interior have a flaw which is fixed in the following years batch. Some parts of the door and steering wheel finishing scratches very easily. Mine has it, prolly going to put CF film on them. I've been told non-nav cars have a solution to fit after market nav. Ask Chris Rogers on the forum, he has done it before. He is based in Qld. Cheers and good luck with your search! jjjones
If you like a decent sound system, find one with Bose option. I've heard that the ones with a Bose system is almost impossible to install aftermarket Nav/headunit and to avoid them completely. Dont quote me on this though. Dont quote me on this though. I am not sure either. What I was told was as long as it was non-nav, it would be workable. Best to ask Chris... Seano350GT
Nah the V35's with factory BOSE aren't difficult to change the HU for a Double Din setup at all. Not sure about the V36 though.. can't imagine there being TOO much difference. Chris Rogers
ok since my name popped up. buy a NON Nav car. it is EASIER to sort the navigation and camera out. sound wise its good enough and you can mod that car a LOT easier than the car with everything. as for changing the radio , not possible. that unit controls the a/c , body functions and radio. one bonus with this car as well is the ability to add a ipod to it. the navi version you CANNOT do this. the last one i built was a 370gt sp. if you do not want tickets in this car fit a cruise control. i do a kit for them hat looks oem. the other thing that can be added is steering controls. if you source a ld based car give m a call beorw shipping it out. i can pick it up and mod it before it leaves. questions ask. also if you have a facebook acount look up audio express brisbane and look at the images specifically a red ckv36.
