So this morning I woke up to a lovely surprise of a big bunch of streaks going through my paint. By looking properly, what seems to have happened is that I must've hit a bump and that somehow caused a dint on the inner side fender and the paint just chipped along. Wtf do I do! I'm not good with panel beating, resprays, top ups or whatever so I need advice. Do I sand it back then touch up? Since my car is a 98, the paint would've definitely faded from the original colour so I doubt it'll match perfectly, and I think it will stand out heaps. Should I just get a whole front bar respray? Help:(

You've mentioned essentially, a dent in the near side fender and then asked at the end if you should have the bar resprayed. They're two different panels.

Plan A:- If the dent is minor and without a picture to go by, you could touch it up as a temporary measure.

Plan B:- If the touch up stands out, the panelbeater is your friend. To beat out the dent and respray, might cost about 500. He should be aware that if your horizontal panels are lighter (ie faded) and the vertical panels are darker, he will need to paint a couple of test cards to check "best blend".

If your bar is stone chipped, it should cost less to get that painted as well, rather than get it painted later on.
