Pulled the old injectors out, found one seal twisted and another split to bits.

Must have been leaking there, a manifold leak next to the injectors, great.

So whoever put those in used a hammer.

Sometimes i see the sht thats been done to my car and i wonder how its still going. I guess Nissan is tougher than i thought.

So i guess when im finished there should be a good power gain.

^she will run so much smoother. Surprised you couldn't feel or hear the leaks around the injectors and mani.

Injector seals make a nice hiss/whistle.

Today I washed, clay bar and then waxed x 2 my Tokyo Taxi.

Got a vac, an internal rub down with Meguiars, and tires wiped over.

Need to replace the O2 sensor and put new cam cover gasket/s on. Found an oily plug :(

To do list for next weekend

Been wondering if anyone has experience with creating a MAP sensor on the inlet manifold. Im thinking about installing a LINK plug in ECU then take it for a tune instead of having to pay $2500 for supply and install when i can get this done for probably $1500 less.

New injectors done the other night.

Installed new fuel pump today.

Deatchwerks, fits like oem (apart from making a slight bend in fuel pipe) and the wiring is awesome cos it solders then plugs straight in.

Also done plug for Z32afm.

So just have to put some bits back together now.

I think im ready to book some time at Autotech. AT LAST!

They should be able to fix/tune all the tech stuff, and make sure my work is ok, thus making it run good.

Best DIY car ever. Fish tank hoses and all. Most fantastic home car i have ever seen. SO much personality into it.

Also ordered my cams+gears/z32's/BOV's and more stuff depending on what i feel like getting lol....

A shame you already ordered your cams and gears Anthony.

I am about to organise a GB for JUN Stage 1 cam kit (cams and gears) and they will be just over 1k delivered to your door. Looking to get prices too on the Stage 2 and 3 kits to offer them in the GB as well.

Some threads fixed this morning.

Called Autotech.

Its on the home stretch now, just putting radiator and stuff back on.

The only conundrum i have is intercooler pipe vs intake pipe. So i just need to get the right size/bend bit of pipe and im done.

Then tow to Hume in a couple of weeks.

Might use that time to do some ducts or something.

Rik, you shoulda seen my clutch, surgical gloves used so no contamination, everything perfect and soooo clean it would have even been good enough for yours.

Making a cold air box moulded from a piece of perspex.

Is this what they mean by "Aww snap!" ?

Oh well, take 2 tomorrow, now with nice templates for the shape.

Dropped my baby in at ESP. Confirmed Clutch is lunched so need a newie put in.

what are you getting this time. Im about to get a NISMO twin coppermix just need to either raise cash for the install or find a hoist where i can do it myself.

Do you have the Nismo clutch? Because if you do - I hate you !!

Nah not really. I had difficulty getting one in a hurry so I have gone for something else.

I needed one this week not in 2-3 weeks time.

They're going for a great price $1700 from OS delivered to Aus :woot::woot: , but those shops who have them in Aus are still asking $2400 to $2700  Damn rip off merchants !!

The twin coppermix was my first choice :(. After reading I would now go the Competition one

Install is half to full day depending on shop. DIY :yes: .

I haven't done one so I'd be in the same boat as you (need someone who has and the equipment. Definitely need it lined up too).

Should be ready to pick up tomorrow afternoon.

For everyone else - keep an eye out. Because if you need one I may be organising a GB...soon

DIY?

You need:

To take the flywheel to get machined, so if they cant do it straight away it holds up the job.(machining takes about 1/2 hour)

Compressor and rattle gun to get it off.

and the usual jack, stands, tools, etc.

I have an alignment tool if you need it, standard nissan 24 tooth, works for gtst.

Mine was an utter utter bastard, as theres not much room and you need to sort of twist and push and lift to get it in.

GTR may be better with clearance but will for sure be heavier.

Recommend getting a mate to help with the wrestling.

The benefits of DIY are you can take the time to do a perfect job, double check it and sleep well.

    • I know people cry at the price of the Getrag 12-14k for a conversion now, but it really is a nice mid point. Not going to get change from 10k on a gearset installed.  $30k++ for sequential.   I know you run the risk of a damaged used one and parts are hard to get but as a street car gearbox its really hard to beat. If you enjoy a more traditional manual, its the choice no question.
