The hydraulic unit is mounted on a frame above the diff.

The unit comprises the 12V hydraulic pump, a nitrogen charged accumulator, the pressure switch and the solenoid valve.

All components are mounted on a cast alloy manifold and can be individually removed/replaced. (The accumulator will need specialist knowledge to remove)

There are 2-electrical plugs. One has 2-pins and is the power for the pump. The other has 4-pins?? for the solenoid valve and the pressure switch.

Unsure of your exact fault but it might pay to check the 4-pin plug first to be sure the message from the pressure switch is getting to the pump relay.

These components (apart from the nitrogen accumulator) give excellent service, it's rare to have any fails unless the oil has become contaminated in same way.

Yea its stock as. Ive exhaused nearly every avenue with no luck, checked voltages across all pins via the fsm, cleaned them with contact cleaner. The problem seems to actualy be the pressure switch itself, but nissan dont sell it seperately and considering the whole unit cost $6000 brand new and second hand is nearly impossible to find im pretty much screwed

    • Does it also misfire equally when revving?   Josh is very correct in what you should do. The coilpack harness wiring loom itself is a known problem due to its age and the number of heat cycles it has gone through. Throwing parts at a vehicle to diagnose the issue isn't a smart or good way to do it. Secondly, you may have a bad coil pack, you pop replacements in, they fix that issue, but messing with the harness breaks it, so the issue persists. So now you think "well it wasn't the coil packs" and have to continue chasing your tail, potentially swapping back in your shit coil packs and returning the good ones (yes, I've seen people do this because 'it wasn't the problem' and they want to save money). And suddenly, you've got two issues with the same symptoms...   Diagnose, don't use the spare parts shotgun.
