alright dude do that will be easier...

toffy you going round 2 saturday?....

decided on new wheels as well ssr professors now colour thinking chrome or the matt almost same colour as the car

thinking chrome would look good with the chrome seal covers size have no idea

thoughts???

Nah I won't be at round two sadly , I was up there last weekend racing so I'm broke this week , and I'm putting my s14 together . 18" in a 9 and 10 would be my choice , in chrome (I just bought some ssr vienna courage , they would suit this car perfect! )

dont support cartel, the owner is a total f**khead.

really better of buying decent when it comes to oil coolers. will have no end of trouble other wise. id also hesitate to put 10's on. you will struggle to find puss enough ones i reckon, unless you got full faggoty toyota specs.

  • 2 weeks later...

time is coming to throw the ebay turbo in the bin and buy a decent one thinking a garrett 3076r need some advice from others out there on other good turbo ideas????????

Problem with the 3076 and a external gate?

Toffy you'll jizz when you see it for the first time once it's done wish I had turbo and tune for next month for the drift battles :/

As toffy saud kinugawa (sp?) Are decent for the price, theres a hyge thread on them in the forced induction section and alot of people get good power figures out of them at a price a whole lot cheaper than garrett.

Imo the gtx wouldn't really pay off for the extra money you'll pay over a normal 3076, the motors not built is it? so your not going to be runnning huge amounts of boost where youll see the quicker spool times. But thats just going off what ive read on them

yeah ive read abit about them seem good for the price motor is stock internals besides the cams i dont wanna run a heap of boost my goal is to get good power but have the motor safe so it lasts!!

everyone seems to be saying 10 so think ill go with that...

last week or 2 the cars been up in damos shed having wiring done i.e. melted wires fixed horn lights wiring for the manual gearbox and finally found the ems stinger and after a little reading seems like they are a good computer so new turbo and tune needs to come soon!!

    • I can get more photos of it here soon and I plan to make a thread detailing the process. I received the car this way and it sorely needs refinishing. That is probably the most appealing photo of it. Up close it is fading, cracked, and needs to be re-glued. Depending on their condition I'm on the fence between refinishing or making a new set.  Another angle hiding the pimples and razor pumps
    • According to this thread the RS4V with build plate RC40 comes with the R200 diff @ 4.083 ratio as well (mine has said RC40 denotation). We may need to check if the axle stubs are the same pattern as well. The auto subframes have longer axles. However I think yours being a later Series 2 as well, we should have the same bolt pattern for the diff stubs. Unless your upgraded rear also has upgraded axles. Either way, I would not be opposed to pulling the covers to check so I can inspect that  fancy rear core  Also I don't have HICAS. I don't believe that should change things but I hope the people here with heaps more experience than me can correct me if I'm wrong   Let me know if you want to attempt to make this work and I can get some pictures of mine from under the car.
    • It's not that straightforward. For example I have had this code because my ignitor/power transistor wires were unplugged. It knows something is wrong but has no idea what it means. If you want to actually diagnose this I recommend following the service manual flowchart for code 21. Ohm out the harness, coilpacks, inspect the ECU, etc. And again, it's entirely possible for there to be no problem at all but if you're running a different coilpack it'll trigger the code because it doesn't like what it sees.
    • If it (the code) wasn't still current, it should have gone away by itself by now. No, nothing it 10/10. But it is quite likely. Everything else to do with the ignition could still be responsible (which is wires and connectors). The car is an old piece of shit now, so all the wires and connectors are also old pieces of shit.
