Just had my car dynoed today to see what sorta power i was making..

Car made 187kw at the wheels...not sure if its any good :(

car is still runnin factory turbo but boosted to 13psi, front mount and exhaust...

Im happy with the run but curious to see what sorta pwr others are makin with a standard turbo

I guess next mod has to be a computer

That's good to know. I didn't know you could adjust the timing without a replacement ecu. I'm definitely getting a front mount given your results.

Do you still have a cat in there? I've got a "high flow" 3" but realistically they aren't that high flow. You can't proper high flow ones here, have to import them yourself.

Do you have a flatspot at all?

hey bob...im runnin a full blitz exhausted but still using the original cat in the car...all they did was advance the timing...or could it be the ignition timing...not sure...they adjusted the sensor on the front of the motor which i assume is the timing....cams in the car are still stock. i will try and upload the dyno graph....i do have a flat spot at bout 135km but then picks up again...its a fairly big drop as well

Mine was much the same before the PFC and Apexi filter. Now have 210 at the wheels (@ 1 bar) and that will do me nicely. Graph at .7bar says 186rwkw so I'm happy. Can't remember what revs that was at but I do remember that it does tail off fairly steeply and doesn't hold the boost all the way thru.

Cheers

Nobody knows but there was a guy who went to all the effort and expense of before and after dyno runs on the same day at all adjustmements for the benefit of the forums (can't remember if it was here or SDU). Got no improvement, not even a change if I recall correctly.

Also, I'm not sure about the GTT being detuned with the cams when it has what is it 30?? odd kw more than the r33

About a year ago I got 182 rwkws - you need to remember guys that different dynos will give different results and so will temperatures and other things. Mine was on DynoDynamics with 10 PSI, stock turbo, stock ic, pod filter and 3 inch cat-back only exhaust - no high flow cat or front pipes.

Now I have more mods so who knows??? I expect closer to 190 on same dyno / boost.

Ben from HPI [R34 GTT project] didnt get a lot of respone out of the CAM gears either from memory - he also put tomei cams in, which may have helped can't remember.

With reference to HPI on the R34 GTT, I think what Ben had said was that the Tomei cams were just about spot on in their design and that no benefit was gained from the adjustable cam gear (exhaust only remember guys) but that there were worthwhile gains to be had without the Poncams but with the adjustable cam gear. I think what Ben was alluding to was that for cheap power upgrade, the cam gear would deliver bang for the bucks but step up to the Poncams and no discernable gain was to be had.

Must have read and re-read that article 20 times. It's where I get all my inspiration from.

cheers

Ok guys kinda off topic but anyways here goes. I'll be getting my PFC tuned soon, any places u think i should check out. Already called places like ICe and Hyper. Also I got the HKS ex cam gear, sort of wish that i saw this thread b4 i ordered it tho. lol

PS : I used to have the emange in my GTT34. um........ :)

I was the one who went to all the (great) expense of testing the Cam Gear in an R34.

I took it to H-Tech Autosports in Vermont and it cost me a packet.

For what I paid I could havebought and tunded a S-AFC!!

Do a search for Cam Gear Install and you will find the article.

Don't bother buying one fo the R34. Waste of Money.

    • I've heard the Tomei USA head gaskets are decent if you want to o-ring the heads but otherwise not recommended.
    • The 296mm rotors are the R33 turbo brakes. The 310mm rotors are the R34 turbo brakes. The calipers are nearly the same, but not. They're the same caliper but the R34 caliper has longer legs so that it sits out far enough to go over the rotor. The pads are the same for both. When you say, "I bough tsome EBC"....did you just mean pads? Or rotors? 310mm rotors fit under 17" wheels. There may be some wheels without enough clearance though. I can't fit my fingers between the barrel of my wheel and the "corners" of my R34 calipers, but there is plenty of room behind the spokes. This is on Enkei RPF1. You can fit 324mm rotors inside a 17" wheel, but I'd be willing to bet that it would be close to impossible with the Nissan/Sumitomo caliper (using an adapter, of course), because the Sumitomo caliper is fatter than the Brembo caliper that is supposed to go on the 324mm rotors.
    • Hi. Can someone tell me what brakes(and mainly WHERE) can i buy brakes on R34 GTT? I bought some EBC which SHOULD go on my car(i have GT but it has GTT brakes) but it does not fit, Brakes are "too" small(296mm) Are 310mm be good or? I have 17 inch wheel so no "big boys" but for me driving i just need one that fits and i can get here in EU/Czech.
    • Since winter isn't that harsh anymore in Poland, i will definetely drive it 365 days a year 😉. But if the snow hits i will try it for sure and let U know. Only swap i am planning to do is of course R34 GTR front 😍.
    • Hey. Very valuable information about pitwork, I will pay attention when buying any consumable parts 🙏 As for the carpets - I got a handful of information from nengun, from which it appears that indeed the carpets for the driver's side are OEM. They are not able to show me any pictures due to the long chain of different sales entities but after I place the order, as soon as the goods arrive at the nengun warehouse from which they will send the shipment to me they can send me photos and if my purchase differs from OEM I can immediately return it / cancel the purchase. I think I will give it a try 😉. Of course i'll let you know what's what as soon as i get them P.s. I know the topic is not relevant to the thread, but both nengun and amayama have these SICK 😍 trunk room lamps available. Do you know anyone who ordered them? I need to have one in my car
