i can see what you guys are trying to say it just gets repeative after a while, yes people have stated what they think, now can we all please move on?

Good on you for getting the exemption. As pointed out, it's your attitude in the previous posts that is what has gotten many people offside with you. For example you have in your signature "Cowdy R33 Gts-t...red p-plates". Are you trying to show off that your drive a Skyline on your provisional license? It's that type of general shit that gets people offside with your whole age bracket (not specifically you, but you're grouped with them whether you like it or not). The amount of smart-arse exemption threads of people saying I'l just illegally drive a turbo on my provisonal license threads has gotten many people frustrated with the whole matter.

Good on you for being granted the exemption. I do hope you end up staying out of trouble. I'm mainly frustrated with TMR for doing a backflip on the laws the introduced in 2007 in regards to restricting such cars to inexperienced drivers. The exemption clause was implemented to allow provisonal license holders to take advantage of the many models of cars that use turbocharging as a method of fitting cars with a smaller engine to enhance fuel ecconemy and not strictly for power.

I got my license in September 2007 and did the correct thing in waiting 3 years before I bought my R32 GTS-T, only for a year later to have TMR backflip on the law and introduce this stupid exemption in which I could have driven the car all along.

I don't agree with the change because they've basically allowed people to drive the cars the law was supposed to restrict in the first place.

i should probably change that :/ its not im trying to be smart im just excited that i can drive it.

i can totally agree that would frustrate the hell out of me.

i like the idea of coil overs but i will have to find the right set so my car isnt any lower, im also looking at white line sway and strut bars

what marc is trying to say is that its your attitude that could be a potential problem

you bought a car that you know, as per the law, should be prohibited; you then made steps to put yourself behind the wheel of said car (with no guarantee that the exemption would go through).

yes you went through legitimate means, but it takes a certain amount of subconscious arrogance (or an 'i'm better than that' mindset) to go for it.

I'm not having a dig at you mate, but we all know that such a mindset (regardless of age) is not a good thing.

EDIT: Mad082, i don't even know if your names marc. :S i dont know if it's your signature or what, but for as long as i can remember on the forum, everytime i see a post of yours ive associated your account with 'marc'

Yep, that's me.

And as for "what's the difference between hooning in a turbo or a natro?" From the post above alex's, quite a lot. More power means more speed. I'm no saint in the road, I've done plenty if stupid things, mainly when i was on my p's too. And i have to say that even when not on my p's, the times when i had my 180sx and my r33 where the times i did the most stupid stuff on a more regular basis. Why? Because it was so easy to. Just simply kick the clutch and even at 80 or 90kmh you can get the rear end out. Or floor it on a bit of a straight road and you're banging on the speed limiter (or be past where it would be if the ecu was stock), while in a natro you'd only just have broken the speed limit.

I can see what your saying. And I can respect that

But I swear to god my car has rediculous lag the turbo only kicks in when it's over 4500

Is something wrong there?

Also my cooling temp stays really low like only a third of the way up the Guage and that's in traffic

Il be sticking to stock turbo just doing after market bov and eboost maybe aftermarket intercooler

Yeah I thought the thermostat but it opens and pressureises and stays hot. And I got told that will also be why my car is so fuel heavy I'm getting like 250-300 a tank is that normal?

Also where can I get a good aftermarket thermostat are the Nismo any good?

If your ECU coolant temp sensor is stuffed, it will make the ECU think the car is always cold and leave you in cold start richness.

Uses more fuel, O2 sensor could be stuffed too, also makes for higher fuel consumption.

As Marc Always says... don't go by a "tank" but go by Litres / 100km

Had sorta similar problem ended up being the coolant sensor(drank abit more fuel) may aswell change your O2 sensor good piece of mind,

Also for the handling upgrade maybe go the sways bars before strut brace more noticeable effect ;)

Thanks guys :)

Yeah with the alloy radiator it has a temp sensor in a weird spot and the exhaust has the o2 sensor just welded in so that will be fun changing

We will pull out the diagnosis tools at work today and we will see what we can figure out

Ill look at prices today and see what I can do but nothing will be done till I can save up the 830 for rego

So you think they sway bars to start with?

By temp sensor I was talking about this one

http://www.kudosmotorsports.com/catalog/nissan-water-temperature-sensor-ecu-genuine-nissan-skyline-r32-all-r33-all-r34-all-p-333.html

Tho we could be talking te different things this one not the radiator,

As for the O2 sensor maybe excuse toget a front pipe ;) Haha but abit pricey maybe,

That's what I would do I bought strut brace no real difference, but then bought sways bars and was happy

If your ECU coolant temp sensor is stuffed, it will make the ECU think the car is always cold and leave you in cold start richness.

As Marc Always says... don't go by a "tank" but go by Litres / 100km

Lol, yes i do always say that, and for good reason.

As for the thermostat, if it isn't working properly then it well take a while to come up to some sort of temp, and will never reach normal temp. This is because it isn't fully closing when cold. This will also mean that the ecu runs in the cold temp section of the maps, where it uses more fuel.

As for replacing it, just get a genuine Nissan one. The nismo ones are a lower temp unit and not quite as good for street use.

Noobs take notice. :D

If you need an O2 sensor, seriously consider 1 from Vulture Motorsport on here.

Cheaper than the big boys and works a treat.

My economoy went from 15ish L / 100km down to 13,12,11 depending on Anger levels and 10.5 on the Highway.

Highway was 47.95L / 455km=10.54L / 100km and round town 47.30L / 373km=12.68L / 100km <<<--------- From Records.

I'm gonna borrow the scan tool for the weekend so I can see the Ecu temp and not just the Guage

Thanks for the advice about the thermostat guys ill see if the Ecu is reading right if not that will be the first thing

And what do you mean by front pipe? I'm new to turbo so it's all confusing to me

I figured out my boost problem. My bov was leaking so loosing all the low pressure untill it started to pump up in the higher revs

Updates!!!

O2 sensor no.2 reading lean. Plugged it into a tester is stuffed. Need a new one so we are cutting it out and welding a nut to fit a new one.

Cooling/fuel problem, thermostat opens at 50/65 degrees. And stays at 73 holding it at 4000rpm the temp goes to 76. So we are ordering in a 90 thermostat new top and bottom hoses to deal with the little extra pressure and a new temp sensor that reads correct to the guage

And to ss- I can see what look like 2 of those sensors one in the front next to the intake and one at the bottom of my radiator

    • Check the injectors flow evenly, and are actually flowing what you and the ECU think they should be flowing. If it's starting up on starter fluid, you have a fuel issue. Is it possible under cranking your fuel pump is turning off?   The harness you replaced, is that the whole engine harness? Do yourself a test, and drop the old harness on and plug it into the Z32 ECU. It's possible they've wired things different. From memory S1 to S2 is different in RB25 and you may have a wrong loom
    • I haven’t pulled the injectors to watch them spray yet but they are clicking from the cas and all of the spark plugs are wet with fuel. I’ve thought the cylinders were being flooded from the beginning and was hoping fuel pressure would fix it. Tonight I am going to pull the rail and watch the injectors spray. Don’t know how to test/diagnose if the plugs are firing in correct sequence but that should be a timing thing and as far as timing goes my car still has the half moon for the cas can only install it 1 way. And my mechanical timing is 100% correct I posted photos above. Confirmed with the balancer on and off.
    • I checked spark on all cylinders and they all visually have spark with the plug pulled and grounded, but plug 1 is the only one that fouled. This was a running swap that blew up and was rebuilt by a machine shop, put a new wiring specialties harness and did all gaskets, studs, and bolts while it was out.  compression is 135-150 across all cylinders. Aside from that from my understanding with the z32 ecu and maf the car should start regardless. The wiring for TPS and the dual 02 sensor/ dual knock sensor stuff shouldn’t actually stop the car from starting or even running well, (just slightly rich)  they just give fault codes. Car supposedly is supposed to start as long as you have z32 afm and ecu with the nistune base map and that’s info coming from a well known and trusted tuner who does a lot with SR/RB (Rsenthalpy). After more trouble shooting today where I’m at right now is that the cas is sending signal to the injectors they click while spinning the rotor, Fuel pressure is now set at 43psi, all cylinders have good compression and all of the plugs looked great (just wet with fuel) except for cylinder 1 which was very black (cylinder 1 has 150psi compression). all of the coils generate spark if pulled out and grounded out on the head. On the fuel pump car just pops into the exhaust. On starting fluid car will fire off. Hard to tell if all cylinders are firing off but definitley a couple. sounds like all of them but it’s only for 3-5 seconds hard to tell.
    • Final update!!! Got the front bar fitted and sprayed and all sorted now. My cutouts worked great and the indicators aren’t just falling off. 😂
    • Is this a brand new LSD? if so, have you followed any break/bed in procedure for it? Usually involves heaps of figure 8 patterns, a fluid flush.
