Help/advice Needed Please

hi hoping someone can help,thinking of installing vip/puddle lights to my stagea has anyone done this ???

i want them to work when the door opens but not sure how to wire them up,the fronts go to a plunger type switch on the sill so that's easy but unsure about the rear doors as there is no plunger switch.

i have found the + and - feed that goes to the door lock and a feed that seems to go from the dome light to the lock,but when i have tried to tap in to this with the door open the puddle light is inop.when the door is closed the dome light and vip light are both on this is driving me nuts !!!!!!

if anyone has done this and has pics/diagram it would be great
