Weight Reduction And Weights

Hey all,

Not sure what place to post this question.

Im looking at reducing weight in my R33 GTR.

Im just after ideas and opinions from people who have done it to GTRs before

Obviusly there is little reason to change the aluminium bonnet and gaurds, but what about the boot?

Im stripping the underside of the bonnet also.

Does anyone have any idea what the driver and passanger seat and rails weigh each? Is it worth changing seats?

How much sound deadner is under the carpet and roof lining? is it easy to remove?

The rear seats, parcel shelf and belts etc will be removed

The boot carpets and plastics will be removed

What else is worth doing?

Hey Adam, I think there is a thread in the motorsport section about weight reduction for a 33 GTR

I weighed the front seats with rails a while ago and I'm pretty sure they were 14-15kgs each

Budget is reasonable .

I have added a titanium expreme cat back

Get a lightweight odyssey battery and remake the bracket for it with aluminium

Get a midori titanium front pipe, cheap at the moment with the good exchange rate

Still got the a/c and stereo or have they gone in the bin?

Im genuinly tossing up weather or not to buy a track only car and sell this one.

As its to nice to ruin etc.

How do you find the exhaust Adam?? Do your ears blees above 4000 rpm?? Mine do......

carbon tail shaft, lexan windows, dry carbon panels.

ls1 conversion will also save weight.
