Been a while since I bought my skyline with some goodies now.. (STREET ONLY I'm too scared for track, let alone going over the speed limit haha.. Seriously)

Bare in mind I've only driven it about 5 times anyway.

I've got a massive turbo.. Probably too big for street use, can only just get traction after turbo spools up if I'm feathering the throttle (around 5600rpm I hit full boost - T04e turbo)

I know little about cars in general let alone a turbo import and not quite sure if what I did first was correct.. When I bought the car I paid too much for starters but I'm over that.. (It's gold and has some nice nismo badges etc. outside the car)

Straight away I took it for a tune, it had a mines ECU

I gained 79kw and 110torque for a hefty price. First tuner I've ever been to but he was pretty helpful.

Since then I was pulled over and the cop let me off with a warning thank god.. For my atmo BOV, Screamer and too low..

Next day I took it to performance suspension to get it jacked up a bit to legal height.. Was my exhaust that was sitting waaaay too low but still on alright..

They knew my car aha and said it has pretty crappy coilovers in it, not sure if they just wanted business but anyway that ruined my day a little more

So NOW it's sitting at home and I am not risking driving it as I do not have my opens.....

Since then those goodies have piled up.

I now have:

-550cc injectors

-kompact Turbosmart Plumback BOV :)

-Yellow Jackets

-Home-Made Pod Cover

NOT on the car.. So that means I will have to go for another tune? Yes? Also I think it's a pretty CRAP FMIC and tuner said the piping is Restricting airflow because its too small.. Yay :(

So what's a nice and big but not too big? Lol

Also suspension? Looking at BC BR coilover herd alot of good stuff with softer springs for street use

Really! sorry for being all over the place I am trying to be quick :/

AND I got no screamer pipe at all it's just hot air straight to my turbos oil line -_- so I'm plumbing that back also, how much you reckon all this will cost me?

Get my opens in November so I gotta start saving $$$$

QUICK EDIT

After my 1st tune I was talking about I had boost tap installed and a chipTorque chip for the ECU

What car and engine is it? Is it an HR31 or R32 with an RB 20 and GTSR T04E or a 33 with a 25? 2.5 inch piping for the intercooler is usually enough for what most people want but 3 inch is pretty common also. If you have lag now adding a large FMIC and long 3" piping can add to it. FMIC can be had for about 250, depending on your car a kit maybe for 500ish.

Sorry hcr32 type m rb20det

I'd say the piping is about 2.3inch. Smaller than the turbos intake side also smaller than the holes on intercooler where it connects

My lack of confidence comes from the policeman waiting to book me and not being able to control my ass end when there's no traction, hate drifting don't really want to know how

As for the turbo I know as much as I was told.. T04e not sure about any specs or what not

    • Well, this is probably where a wiring diagram and a multimeter come into play.
    • I can say to anyone thats doing this; having done a number of R clusters; just be careful if its an unknown cluster.  It takes a bit of force to pull up; but if it feels excessive then its probably stuck. I've had this and pulled the entire hair spring out; and I can tell you; its not easy getting the correct spring replacement with the correct inner diameter and winding. In my case someone had used some sort of adhesive to stick it to the spindle and it pulled the whole spindle out; which the force seperated the hairspring from the spindal and caused it to deform.  You may have to clean it (IPA); or in my case if i'd known i should have used some sort of solvent on it.  Also check out Cruizin Central on eBay. He does all sorts of dials; and you can email him with any custom designs you want. So if you want like certain logos etc...he'll send you a mock of what it will look like then you accept the order and he'll take care of the rest. Fantastic dials and he can do basically any design you want.
    • Have you confirmed its the actual axles? Also the wheel bearings that mount on the hubs to hold the axles wear out. I replaced mine as they got play in them. It sorted my play issue.
    • Ive converted a few clusters for the R33 with 320km/h dials. On the back there are some pads which can be bridged or unbridged (using solder or wick braid) to calibrate it. There is one bridge which is for MPH <> KPH; and there are combinations of bridges to offset it. There is probably a diagram  For example; this is my conversion for a 180km/h dial to a 320km/h dial (I put custom GT-R dials on it with the GTS25t layout) If you have J2 soldered (assuming the S clusters have a similar config to the R clusters); you may need to remove that solder
    • Back on topic 😉, these are some of the notable pages from the booklets that are supplied with each weekly parts update. I never knew the BNR32 test mule car had an S13 Silvia front end... *Edit: On closer inspection the test car still had the R32 body, but only the front end had Silvia panels etc.
