Hey guys..

As I came home from royal national park..as I was at the door to my house the cops rang and told me that my car was found in epping and to pick it up..!!

expecting the worst...me and my brother went to Epping...the car was in good condition.!!

wheels were still there!!

sterring wheel too!!

a bit of damage to the bonnet and a slightly cracked and scraped front bar...

interior...stereo and shit pulled out..!! and gear knob and some plastic shit around the gearstick..!!

other than that..all is fine!!

oh shit..the car would have copped a shit load of a thrashing!! they took out the panel filter...must have driven it like that!!

but they didnt drive it that far..max they drove it was a few hundred kms..!!

The car has been involved with a few illegal shit I think..the guys that stole the car had dropped the car there 2 weeks ago and has come back to use it once or twice...

well its a vision atm...I will talk to the guys at vision monday!!

thats the story..!! I am back!!

Schweeeet - That's great news. ( that the car was recovered) However it blows that they did some damage. I guess you're just happy to get the car back in (sort of) one piece.

Best news I've heard all week - (Except for ROOSTERS winning against Brisbane)

Cheers,

CONGRATS!! :)

i am heppy for you man, its good to see that the cops can return the cars every now and then!!

i was devastated when you told me it was stolen - i am happy now. :)

I'm sure the car has seen better days, but i am sure you are happy to have it back. :headbang:

well done man!!

Christian

whoa thats awesome news dude!

so happy to hear... you're one lucky bugger.

Hope the car is okay.. engine wise.. as i know how expensive this can be. I don't think it could be that bad... skyline engines are made to be thrashed :)

at least the car is still in one piece... guess they were nice thieves and lucky they didn't torch it... would've been a nasty sight

anyway welcome back mate... take good care of her.

I had a flashpoint alarm!!

Hey i jus realised today...the grill taht was found next to my car...is not my grill..was there another white R33 skyline stolen??

the grill had the red S badge...and was white too?

chances are that one is being used for the same reason and is sitting in another carpark?

they probably jus kept changing up the number plates!

Jords...

nah, my car wasn't stolen.. but the front grill was (maybe they were getting started?). thankfully i dun have to park in that hole anymore! Quite a few of my colleagues have had their cars busted into in there...and my last car (lancer) got badly dented in the loft carprk. i always see another white R33 there with a black wing too. hope he;s ok

but anyway, i parked behind ya at fox on friday! shoulda called you (but bet u were too bz with chicks!).

clubbing in maquarie shoppo? Sum knob tried to lift my 180 in maq shoppo carpark (b4 they built the new one next to Big W) managed to take off with the momo steering wheel.

UNSW skyline club? awwww bugger where were you guys when I used to go there? Used to hang out at the Quad n the roundhouse all the time :) Oh and the Comp Eng Undercroft Labs ;)

Glad you got your car back man, coppers in Epping are nice I reckon, I used to live there on Blaxland Rd

we were supposed to go clubbbin at Fox... but we weren't dressed up enuff (last m,inute thing)

:)

were you at city live that night?

anyway, some workmates told me that the vandals at macquarie are a bunch of local kids that live across Epping rd. -They target cars of ppl that work in or nearby, but just havn't been caught in the act. Dunno if they actually steal cars tho!

    • Has equal chance of cleaning an AFM and f**king an AFM. I think you can work out what happened. When the Hitachi ECU sees the AFM die and goes into the associated limp mode, then it will start and run just fine, because it ignores the AFM and just runs on idle maps that will do what it needs to get it going. But there is no proper load signal, so that's about all it can do. My suggestion? If you don't want to go full aftermaket ECU, then get some R35 GTR AFM cards and some housings to put them in, in the stock location, and Nistune the ECU. Better to do a good upgrade than just replace shitty 40 year old tech with the same 40 year old tech.
    • So my car was recently having trouble starting on initial crank, I would need to feather the gas for it to start up but besides that it would start and run fine. So I clicked the idle air control valve (with throttle body cleaner) and cleaned the MAF sensors (with MAF cleaner). The start up issue was fixed and now the car turns over without the assist of the throttle, but the car is in limp mode and wont rev past 2.5k RPM. From what I understand the IACV would not put the car in limp mode, so I am to believe it is the MAF sensors, but it was running fine before and now I cant get it out of limp mode. I cleaned the MAF made sure the o rings were seated properly. Made sure the cables were plugged in properly, the cables also both read the same voltage. Does anybody know why this is or what could be causing this or how to get it out of limp mode?
    • Ooo I might actually come and bring the kids, however will leave the shit box home and take the daily
    • Thanks. Yeah I realised that there's no way I'd be able to cover the holes with the filler, it would just fall through. Thanks again @GTSBoy!
    • That was the reason I asked. If you were going to be fully bodge spec, then that type of filler is the extreme bodge way to fill a large gap. But seeing as you're going to use glass sheet, I would only use that fibre reinforced filler if there are places that need a "bit more" after you've finished laying in the sheet. Which, ideally, you wouldn't. You might use a blob of it underneath the sheet, if you need to provide some support from under to keep the level of your sheet repair up as high as it needs to be, to minimise the amount of filler you need on top. Even though you're going bodge spec here, using glass instead of metal, the same rules apply wrt not having half inch deep filler on the top of the repair. Thick filler always ends up shitting the bed earlier than thin filler.
