I got the car with the motor as a spare but the turbo has been takin on it an put on the na motor it runs around 5psi boost what could I do to this na motor to run a bit more boost with out spending heaps on it as I am building the other motor I just want that bit more punch :) thanks guys for ur help

Umm....

1. 'GTR' Motors are rb26dett and such are factory twin turbo. So ide say with 99% assurance you dont have an rb26 with you if you only have a single turbo on your rb25de. Post some pictures of the spare engine you have and of the turbo that was put on your motor so we can identify what we are working with.

2. Get a cheap manual boost controller if you want to up the boost a bit. Without knowing what turbo you have ide say stick to aroudn 7-9 psi. You may need a retune. Surely there has been more done to this car because you cant just smack a turbo on and nothing else.

Moar info needed + pics help

Thank u it has a turbo smart boost tee on it I figured out today that the hoses where the wrong way around I'm now on 8psi :) and my spare engine is a neo if that helps that's all I know it's all pulled down but I do know its defs not twin turbo haha I think the turbos just a stock Nissan or nismo or something I have seen it on it somewhere Ill have to have a look again and I will take a few pics as well thank u for ur help :)

If you have simply thrown a turbo exhaust manifold and turbo onto a STOCK N/A motor, I would strongly suggest removing the boost controller all together. The ecu will not have a single idea what is happening when you see boost. (if it i an N/A ecu, if not that's good) Also, if it is just an N/A motor that you, or someone has strapped a turbo onto, the compression of the cylinders will be way too high to safely see ANY boost. Since day 1, people have said you can "safely" put a turbo on an N/A engine and run <5 PSI of boost and it will be okay. In "some" cases this may be truth, however it is putting an extremely high amount of stress on the non turbo engine and in 9/10 cases will end with a bang, and not from your tires.

So as far as you wanting to get more boost. I would strongly suggest removing what boost you already have. If you are dead set on continuing with the turbo on the N/A engine, then I highly suggest you get a decompression head gasket, shorter stroke pistons, dish top pistons or all of the above to lower the compression enough to SAFELY have some boost put through it.

If you don't lower the compression, you will have two engines sitting in your garage needing a rebuild. As well as no car.

    • Ok thanks..that was my second question if i can somehow bypass this even with Nistune(that is all i have right now...aparat from stock ECU. So with some aftemarket it can by "bypassed" or make it work?  I know there is Link or Haltech (mainly used). We have ECUmaster here so i will gather some info about it.
    • Yes. You will need to get the original boost sensor and wire it in. That is.... if you plan to use a stock ECU - even a Nistuned ECU. The Nissan ECU will not operate correctly without it connected. And yes, it will do annoying stuff like you are experiencing. You will almost certainly be better off with some aftermarket ECU, than trying to hunt down rare sensors.
    • Ok so ABS/TCS is "not" the problem. Yeah i know now about the ABS with Nistune(i told that to the Nistune guy) but iam not 100% why or why i dont have ABS. ABS cube is in the engine (always has been) but i had braked couple of times rly hard and brakes just locked and scream. Does all Skylines have ABS cube? That boost sensor https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/367633-wtb-r34-gtt-turbo-pressure-sensor-pics-inside/ Is this it? I need to ask but i have a picture of engine bay and i do not see that (100% is not in that place) If i do not have this the car can do what mine is?(cutting around 4000 rpm) Here is the pic of my engine bay(only one i have) BUT i think i dont have that cuz loom was used from my RB20DE NEO and i know (obviously) that it does not have boost control or any wire to that...) so maybe that is the problem? (i dont know for 100% if that car where the engine is from had that)...but i dont have the loom from that
    • I'm with you here. It's either loom has an issue, OR, injectors are not functioning properly. It could even be they're just constantly dribbling, hence the wet, but not firing.
    • Depending on how long the car sat it is very possible for injectors to be stuck open or closed, I'd get them cleaned and flow tested. Other than that, obviously when the loom changes and the car doesn't start any more....the loom is suspect so some tracing / comparing may be required
