what a long day :D

well i finally popped my drag cherry with a first ever run of 13.338 @ 101.35 mph

it just went down hill after that, because i took it easy on the first run, i decided to go hard on the second, flooded my motor in the burnout and fouled the plugs. the result was a sixteen something. we put new plugs in it in the carpark, but the motor was running like a dog (it wouldn't rev out properly), with another sixteen something on the third run. i decided that was enough, because i still had a 3 hour drive home in the poor thing.

next will be a tune (the motor has 3,800 k's on it and has never been tuned), then look out i will be back !!!

a few things that suprised me on the day were lack of organisation of the scruntineering and instructions for a newbie, and the amount of traction i had with street tyres !!! there is plenty of rubber on the start line :D

big ups to r33vit and benm for having a chat between runs (i thought it was nearly an hour between runs).

good to meet a few new guys :headspin:

and Bu5ter, our auto's will own everybody :)

Hey Hawks

Nice to meet you mate and Im glad you got the car home OK...

I ended up burning a clutch out so no new PB for me :D

I don't think anyone had any real luck yesterday, someone please post up they didn't have any problems and ran a personal best!

There must have been something like 200+ cars there, all the staging lanes were filled + there was the line going all the way around the carpark.. didn't someone say the street meetings are empty? :D

Once again, the SAU people made the event fun. Thanks guys!

I think it was because of the long weekend Chris... Hope to have a new clutch and flywheel B4 the next meeting...

I had set up a water injection kit over my intercooler which blew a hose off on the first run... (rush jobs never work) Will fix it and see if there is any diffrence with this running.. I know BOOSTD run 107-108 mph all night without injection and then 112mph with

I will post my findings once I have used it

Well that was my last Drag Racing for awhile (doing nite shift at work now) and boy was it fun NOT !!

My tyres were dead after the last Wakefield trackday so I knew that traction was non-existent, actually ever since I got the Ex Cam Gear installed (more torque) traction has been a problem. Think i'm gonna have to get some 255's before I go back otherwise I'm just wasting my time. Still rattling off the 2.1's and 100mph passes just can't string everything else inbetween together to get that 13.x pass.

Gave Buster a run in my car for the last run of the day just for shits n giggles, he managed a 14.7@100mph :D I'm sure he had his eyes shut too after being used to 11sec passes in his car.

Ahh well if all goes to plan i'll be in a totally different car the next time i'm at the drags :D

    • Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch. I want to ask if this noise is from the throw out bearing or could it be the clutch assembly or disk att.xFliq87Gzw6kImKBVqDebXkj0fBqymk0JaYeP3_3SlM.mp4
    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
