Rb26 oil filter change has defeated me. How the f**k do you get the f**ker out. I think i may need a smaller tool to get to it.

It also feels like the filter on there is smaller than the replacement Z145a one i've got, but that could just be tiredness creeping in

You forgot: buy oil filter relocation kit as the step before that i think. Will be putting one of those in next time.
yes mate get one.

The way the standard oil filter is mounted on the side of the block is beyond f**king stupid

On a random tangent, I'd love to have a rally prepped WRX or EVO out on some of the tracks in the gas fields right about now...

Without in vehicle monitoring equipment of course. I wouldn't be wanting to drive them at 40km/h....

My sister and brother in law are getting rain on the farm up at Biloeila too, should be enough to get them through winter, they still needed to sell a lot of stock at no profit though. But at least the breeders they kept should now make it through.

    • Ended up just being a loose exhaust bolt luckily.
    • Yeah I made that post way too early, sorry I must have assumed it was bad because it's a 20+ year old thrashed shitbox lol. It was just a loose exhaust bolt.
    • Like others have said, drop the power to give your drivetrain a % of reliability until you can up the drivetrain reliability  It isn't rocket science, build power to the weakest link with a % of safety Whilst upping the the reliability of the drive train is costly, there's no point in having the engine make big power if it keeps eating the drivetrain....ask me how I know, I had the tow truck on speed dial for a few years, and I spent huge amounts of money fixing issues and breakages that really would have been cheaper in the long run if I did it right the first time Me, I like a nice sized fudge factor, that keeps me off the tow truck
    • I don't understand what the issue is with, turn the boost down and start saving $$.  As soon as you can afford the supporting mods, turn the boost back up.  If the car is running fine, enjoy it. Turning the boost down isn't going to kill you.
