I'm thinking 33 because it's all the same and it gives me a chance to refit some stuff I want

New motor I could put in one and make track pig

As some one who has done the engine swap thing I can say it's a pain in the ass and sticking with a r33 is by far your easiest option

Morning all

My grandad if looking at options for the car and is sending me all this stuff

So he has found a 34 front end conversion kit got under a grand. And door and rear quaters off a black gtr for 200

a 34 conversion would be cool but Id keep things simple and stick to the same model make as conversions are costly after you include lights, fittings, cutting, taking rear qtr panels and welding them back on, sanding and respraying......it's a bigger job than just acquiring a body kit.

    • As MBS suggested if this is happening when the engine is cold you're going to want to remove the intake air regulator and verify resistance + that the shutter is physically opening and closing. At -20C should be fully open, 20C half open, over 60C fully closed. At 20C should be 70-80 ohms. For AAC valve testing using a Consult cable see if you can raise and lower the idle by commanding more or less AAC duty cycle. Hopefully it's pretty linear as well, shouldn't be like 30% AAC valve is barely idling and 40% is 1500 rpm.
    • Bloody apprentices! 🙄
    • Not sure yet.  Was considering speedtek because it was rated to 800hp, but when I did some research about him I don't think I will go for that🤣 So maybe giken gear set, but I'm afraid it won't be strong enough🙄
    • Keeping in mind that for most people this is a week to month long job!
    • Its also worth mentioning that 30 years after it left the factory and god knows how many missed oil changes since, there is every possibility that one or more lifters are ticking because they are sticky/gummed up. To resolve that you need to pull the cams then pull each lifter, disassemble, clean, reassemble, soak in oil and re-install, and they should come up good as new.
