Yeah, maybe I'll just always leave my car parked in the garage, then nothing can happen to it

:P

Seems to be working so far ;)

I use my car every week - just saying

I use mine daily.... Just saying... :P And it only breaks when I let apprentices touch it... :whistling:

I think this would have scared the crap out of me... I already thought I had to sleep with ALL the toys on the bed so they didn't feel left out let along if they actually looked like they did shit during the night... These kids will either have killer imaginations or be petrified of their toys...

cAndy! The only place I seem to be able to get an x181 is online. Are they that good that I can take the risk without trying one out?

Gimme a sec. There may be a current equivalent. The x181 is from the summer before last

Il be there on Sunday mate

Does happy laps technically count? It is taking to the track... But not proper taking it to the track... I would do happy Laps but not a proper track day, at least not in my car until she has some work done...

If you are prepared to accept the consequences of track days - then by all means

Happy laps also doesn't count :P

your words sMartie 'come out to the track ya fairy!'

Happy Laps is not just out to the track but on track!

Didn't have any issues with it, until it became difficult to buy.

I went to superlap a few years ago and one of the royal purple promo girls scarred me for life, it was horrible to see... So, so, horrible!!! Should not have worn that outfit and to make matters worse, should not have gone commando in that outfit! I pointed it out to the boys to share the burden and I think they were also scarred for life... The other one on the other hand could have sold it to me if it wasn't for her oompa looma sidekick... That right there is what I am reminded of every time I see royal purple...

Did you just turn the topic onto cricket bats?

It let me down in major ways on several occasions, Royal purple on the other hand never has. The year I went, i think 2012? One of the royal purple girls was amazing, my god the things the things I would be willing to do with her! lol

OK apparently the x181 500s is available at Greg Chappell Albion. the 500 or 700 range is about what you should be going for in Grey Nicks. The Powerbow gen X has a very similar look to it and would be a good substitute, the matrix is pretty similar too but looks a little less bottom heavy.

If you are feeling strong check out the Colossus, it reads heavy but the pick up is surprisingly good

I was at GC Albion yesterday, they only had the x181 in small mens and below sizes.

I might check out the Powerbow gen X for weights then order the x181 :)

Hahaha yeah It was 2010 I think we went, maybe 2011! One was smoking hot the other was horrible, she bought the team down

My car isn't even close to set up enough to do a "proper" track day, maybe after I get some suspension work done I might, at least then it will handle nicely and well... Less like a boat :) Happy laps on the other hand will be done on Sunday in her... I would take Zane's car out to a proper track day but he isn't happy with the setup at the moment so more than likely wouldn't let me :(

If happy laps counts then Martin is doing a track day on Sunday :P hahaha

A reliable source tells me the X181 and the Powerbow gen X are in fact the same shape. So a long sweet spot starting low and heading up to traditional centre. They are however scalloped to make them a little lighter, meaning if you hit off center you lose some power. The Matrix has a similar length middle but is not scalloped and therefore a little heavier but is more forgiving if you get one off center. I would give both a go, if you can live with the extra weight on the matrix it may be the go, if anything I wish my bat was less scalloped.

    • I've seen similar actually in my situation. You never know what tables are attempted to be used when the car thinks it's -99C or +200C. The fail state is not usually that extreme but you know what I mean - it was in my case though! This is where being able to read all the sensors is useful cause you see this stuff really quickly.
    • The above is very important. However as long as you keep timing relatively low, it's plausible to make your own knock ears and plausible to learn to tune with a modern ECU that can do wideband O2 correction like a boost controller. I mean if you only have one viable road to even drive the car on, learning to tinker to this level may be worth doing given you can't do much else with the car...?
    • I find the fact that the rear plate has to be bent inwards at the rear not so bad: but the front is just awful: It's like come on. (these are my very old, now retired/turned in plates) TBH it is a lot of money to fix a minor issue, the fact I said "I'll never really spend the money on doing this" is why people ended up buying them as a gift for a 'car guy' who can be hard to shop for.. for car guy things.
    • I just bent the ends of my premo plates. It even went through Regency like that after the engine conversion and the inspector (a great bloke!) just squinted his eyes and said "I didn't see that". Plates, and how they look, are just something that have zero importance to me.
    • Yeah, I would have said the same. It makes me suggest that there are other things wrong, such that the ECU is totally unhappy with the broken sensor. The only other thought here is that maybe it is shorted, which might cause a different issue to the typical "disconnected" sensor.
