Naah he was pretty good actually, he even told me not to buy tonneau/cannopy of them because they were overpriced.

...OK, maybe he was pretty sh*t, from nissan's point of view. :P

I think they looked after me because the sale was organised through my sister's work (big salary packing company, major buying power)

Haha yeah but honest sales people aren't good for Nissan :P So good for you but bad for them ;)

So I go via you/your sister when I want my Pathfinder? :P

Pretty sure I just found out why our car scene is dying. Idiot knob jockeys. *sigh*

I could have told you about the idot knob jockeys... But actually what did you find out? Other than generally people are stupid...

Well people are generally stupid but have been following a question on the SAU Facebook Page today and they turn a simple question about fuel octane into a lynching mod.

I already denied them that one ;)

I did too, but I need to remind them, I dont want them to do it while they are doing the other stuff

Electronic rust protection is the shit though...

Yeah its awesome...for bridges.

My favorite part was that the warranty is only valid on panels with no scratches and were totally sealed, if your panels were totally sealed it wouldnt rust anyway.

P plate commo doin skids?

Sadly whenever I see dickheads driving recklessly 8/10 appears to be P Platers, 1/10 appears to be I'm to good for you old men in their BMW / Merc and 1/10 appears to be Subbies with their ute in hurry to go to the pub

ewww pathfinder

I am a girl... I have a pink car already... Really, not setting a high bar anyway :P I don't like the new ones tho :( So they better get their shit sorted before I want to actually get one!

with more and more cars losing thier transfer case every year I dont see the pathfinder getting one back, though apparently there will be a wagon based on the new Navara, which is pretty much what the old pathfinder was.

That may not be too bad... I want a wagon I know that much because I want to put my dogs in the back and not have them in a ute back.

Put the dogs together with the cats in the wagon :D

Haha well I used to have a cat that lived in the backyard with my old Rottie and at my parents I have 4 dogs, 2 cats and a rabbit that all love each other!

Dogs love utes! Cats not so much.

Yeah but I don't like putting dog's in utes... lol I would rather in the back of a wagon...

But from what I have seen the new navara is going to look like a*se though...

Is it getting its transfer case back?

Dogs love utes!

This is what I keep saying :)

New cars start to look shitter and shitter I swear... Then they start improving and then go shit again!

Haha and I keep saying I don't want them on the back of a ute if it rains :P

Wagons are great Mel. I thought about getting a tow car/wagon. You know stuff like buying furniture, transporting my catalouge of cats, moving race cars.

Plan is tow car, cart dogs and parents when they come to visit... They don't really like getting in and out of the back of Skylines all the time :P

    • After using a protractor for an actually accurate assessment of what is required,  and by NOT using my uncalibrated eyeball I worked out I need a 25° silicone bend from the TB ro the MAF, but, my choice was either a 30° or a 23° (23° is a weird spec), so I grabbed the 23° one from Raceworks I also grabbed 1mtr of 3" straight from Just Jap, I needed 350mm, but they only had 300mm, or 1mtr lengths....meh Also ordered a 1/2" hose bulkhead fitting from fleabay, this has a smoothish mushroom looking head (they are designed for below the water line of boats) that will fit inside the bend, the hose bit and threaded bit looks to long, but nothing that a hacksaw cannot fix if required, the hose will then just get jamed on the threaded bit up to the retaining nut Fingers crossed and the unsightly amount of hose clamps will be reduced down to 4 once all the parts arrive
    • Oil change does not trigger code 21. Code 21 is for coilpacks primary side connection. You can try to clear the code with a battery disconnect, hold down the brake pedal to drain capacitors through the brake lights with the ignition on for 10-15 seconds before you reconnect the battery. I have seen R35 coil conversion permanently cause this code with no ill effects so it might be the resistance it wants to see isn't quite right on one or more coilpacks. Could be inside the ECU, could be the harness, could be a coil. You can test it all if you want or just ignore until the car actually starts misfiring.
    • I forgot you have a Nistune ECU. Use Nistune to do all the tests I mentioned instead of faffing with 30+ year old electrical connectors. You can read MAF volts off that too, there are reference values in the service manual to tell you roughly what it should be in different conditions.
    • No. I think it might be the AFM. Hence the use of the terms "swaptronics", which implies the use of swapping out electronics for the purpose of diagnosis. It's about the only way to prove that a small/niggling/whatever problem with an AFM or a CAS or similar is actually caused by that AFM/CAS/whatever. A known good item swapped in that still gives the same problem is likely to be caused somewhere else. They're all the same. Spraying AFMs with cleaner is an each way bet between cleaning it and f**king it.
    • Oh wow! This might actually work amazingly. Do you know the ratio of the diff? I was told the only thing you need to make sure of is if the front & rear diff ratios are the same. Ours is a 4.083 Thanks!
