Because they are waaaaay to big.

You won't get any shit from me about ls1 in a skyrine Nick. Living it Gayton tho, that's another story.

A mate had a NA zed, spent many, many thousands doing a vh45 conversion (and 2 years). Sounded awesome but was still slow. So he pulled that out and went vgTT. Cheaper and faster.

Since parted it out and is now talking m3CSL or lotus

That actually makes sense, but why not a more modern Nissan v8 engine?

They don't lope around like cammed up LS's do.

And the other reason was I just simply didn't want one, I don't know anything about the motors whereas info on ls building is plenty full and parts are cheap.

And to me nothing sounds better than a big cube natro v8 screaming up near the redline or shaking around at idle :jizz:

Haha aww but mike it's no fun unless it annoys people lol.

And that's the other thing the quad cams are massive same as with the 5.4 boss motors in falcoons

What about cost and time taken to make swap though?

Yep same idea as old bud that did the 1uz swap into a supra. He came to a happy laps with us once and the thing sounded sooo tuff like an f1 v8 mix. So I was naturally a little hesitant of lining him up, but when play time was over and I got a run down the straight with him I had about 3 1/2 car lengths over the start finish line and mines dead stock apart from the exhaust and the built box

Up near redline at 4500rpm lol

Yeah mates vh45 had extractors (custom so they fit lol) and exhaust and nistune and it would've had about 200rwkw.

Took about 6 months start to finish which I didn't mind cause I was on my ps still anyway and I'd just blown up my gearbox so the car was just sitting there.

Cost wise, it's only money... And the attention it gets and the "WTF is in that thing" reaction when people hear it fire up is just priceless.

Yer mines just got a custom extractors a crappy mail mafless order tune and basically a 3inch straight pipe and a dirty pod filter sucking like a 2 dollar whore off the intake pipe lol. Through my auto with the bigger stall I'd imagine id only have about 200rwkw....

For now

You still running stock cams Nick?

A friend of friend had massive cams in his. Was so bad that in top gear on highway at 110 he got chopped by a stock telstar lol

Top gear roll ons of course ;)

optimism my boy. youll hvae 180 if your lucky. you need a tune!!!!!

Yer stock everything man, the motor in this trims days are numbered ;)

It's to fast to only have 180, I was chopping cars up around the 230-240kwkw mark at the drags

youve lost a lot of weight in that engine. plus you have more torque, that engine will be running like shit with a mail order tune and your bolt ons.... i have the hsv ls1, standard cats tho, with otr and full tune and that only cranks 230 atw.... manual.

alright maybe you have 190....

    • I thought that might be the case, thats what I'll start saving for. Thanks for the info
    • Ps i found the below forum and it seems to be the same scenario Im dealing with. Going to check my ECU coolant temp wire tomorrow    From NICOclub forum: s1 RB25det flooding at start up Thu Apr 11, 2013 7:23 am I am completely lost on this. Car ran perfectly fine when I parked it at the end of the year. I took the engine out and painted the engine bay, and put a fuel cell with an inline walbro 255 instead of the in tank unit I had last year. After reinstalling everything, the engine floods when the fuel pump primes. if i pull the fuel pump fuse it'll start, and as soon as I put the fuse back in it starts running ridiculously rich. I checked the tps voltage, and its fine. Cleaned the maf as it had some dust from sitting on a shelf all winter, fuel pressure is correct while running, but wont fire until there is less than 5psi in the lines. The fuel lines are run correctly. I have found a few threads with the same problem but no actual explanation of what fixed it, the threads just ended. Any help would be appreciated. I found the problem though. There was a break in one of the ecu coolant temp sensor wires. Once it was repaired it fired right up with no problems. I would have never thought a non working coolant temp sensor would have caused such an issue.
    • Hi sorry late reply I didnt get a chance to take any pics (my mechanics on the other side of the city) but the plugs were fouled from being too rich. I noticed the MAF wasn't genuine, so I replaced it with a genuine green label unit. I also swapped in a different ignitor, but the issue remains. I've narrowed it down a bit now: - If I unplug and reconnect the fuel lines and install fresh spark plugs, the car starts right up and runs perfectly. Took it around the block with no issues - As soon as I shut it off and try to restart, it won't start again - Fuel pressure while cranking is steady around 40 psi, injectors have good spray, return line is clear, and the FPR vacuum is working. It just seems like it's getting flooded after the first start I unplugged coolant sensors to see if its related to ECU flooding but that didnt make a difference. Im thinking its related to this because this issue only started happening after fixing coolant leaks and replacing the bottom part of the stock manifolds coolant pipe. My mechanic took off the inlet to get to get to do these repairs. My mechanics actually just an old mate who's retired now so ill be taking it to a different mechanic who i know has exp with RBs to see if they find anything. If you have any ideas please send em lll give it a try. Ive tried other things like swapping the injectors, fuel rail, different fuel pressure regs, different ignitor, spark plugs, comp test and MAF but the same issue persists.
