THE GOOD:

It’s very cheap as I needs to go

The car runs very well, i have serviced it every 5000km which I have recepts show, I drove 500km a week with no issues, made a great daily with plenty of speed for weekends.

I have been through all the usual RB25 problems such as rough idles and so on and rectified everything, she has run out of niggly issues. I have receipts for everything from cleaning iic to coilpacks and injectors, new window regulators and minor electrical problems, always fixed the properly way and only quality bits used. I work for a large dealership and I have mechanics on hand which I use for everything.

The ride with the BC coilovers is amazing, I cannot speak highly enough of them, the ride height has been set to a good height and I run about half damper stiffness and it corners so very well.

I have recently (well just finishing) having the interior dash from the triple gauges right down to the shifter section relayed in carbon fiber. Im not talking about some 3m stick-on vinyl, I mean properly coated in Cf and resin/ gloss finished, the finished look is very deep and something you need to see to appreciate, something im very happy with.

When doing this I will replace the headunit with a double din DVD unit.

Now the car is auto which I surprisingly like to drive however it can come with a manual conversion including everything you need minus the actual gearbox, let me know if this is something you want.

Pedals, master cylinder, lines, even the manual gtr guage cluster. Let me know if you will be wanting these.

I have just had the windows tinted for summer and the tires balanced and a full alignment done, servicing is up to date and 3 months rego so just get in and drive.

I bought this car of a friend and it has been my daily, we modified it so we know it has not has a hard life, and the mechanical condition of the car will reflect this.

THE BAD:

The paint is in good condition but there are some usual scrapes and scratches. The rear bar seems a little warped so I also have a spare in VG condition you can have, I also have an after market front bar spare if you want it.

The roof has had a box dropped on it and it has a dent, this can be removed by dentsaway for a couple of hundred and I would personally consider getting a new front bar. Mine is fine but was cut too much to fit the intercooler. It has always been on my list but never bothered me. These things will be obvious once I point them out but people never seem to see them until I do.

The seats are in good condition but could use a clean, maybe one or two very small holes, nothing to write home about.

Tires are in ok condition, being toyo proxies they are not the quietest tire but hold the road well.

It used to have a flip up TD in the dash which don’t work in AUST so I have replaced them with the triple gauges, I have not wired these up yet. I might do it if I get time but don’t expect it as im short on time.

If you want me to arrange fixing anything I work in the motor dealership industry so I have cheap and very good contacts. It will be at your expense but I can definitely make it cheaper for you if you would like.

These bad points and the fact that I need to sell is why the car costs $10,000 ono and not $14000 like everyone else’s so please don’t use them as an excuse to expect me to drop my price, I prefer to be honest up front so I would appreciate the same courtesy.

Im always open to negotiation with people who have money and are willing to speak with me face to face, im a very easy going guy but I work stupid amounts of hours so I can’t really oblige time wasters.

The car can be test driven, if prearranged I can bring it to work in Thebarton close to town or catch up on a Sunday but again, dick me around and you get a very cold response. That being said I am more than happy to help.

Feel free to ask any questions you want and request pictures of anything if needed.

Im re-registering her tonight so I may drive to work a few times but more than likely it will sit cosy in my garage. I prefer to pre arrange a viewing so I can clean the dust of her and find time myself to meet you properly and not in a rush after work in the dark.

Enjoy the picks

once i have the new carbon dash in properly with the DVD player i would sell it to an SAU member for about $9000, just fyi.

cheaper with less parts.

extra for the manual conversion or spares so on and so on.

Edited by GH05T

i would expect to pay $1000 - $1500 for a good gearbox and whatever you want for a clutch, then most guys knock it out on a weekend.

i have always found help doing it as im not mechanical enough to do it on my own.

hahaha i wudnt have the fund to do the conversion lmao and im useless with mechanical shit like that haha if it was manual i wuda been super keen lol looks mint as

mmk so i managed to scratch the drivers side tint, if you see the car before its fixed, it will be fixed.

why does something stupid always happen when you go to sell :P

  • 2 weeks later...

If you could PM me who did your carbon overlaying as well as pricing that would be appreciated.

Also, did you notice your car has some sort of gtr rear fenders? That could be a big selling point for you as it's an easy platform for a full gtr conversion now (most expensive part already done).

...GTR fenders?

also the guy who did my CF kinda let me down in the end, i got someone else to finish it off so i will probably keep that one to myself.

    • So, I put my boat on a boat. First of all, I'm going to come out and say it. Why is Tasmania not considered a holy goal, an apex that all road-legal modified cars go to, to experience? This place is an absolute wonderland of titanic proportions. If people are already getting club runs for once in a lifetime 30 person cruises to Tassy then I've never seemed to see it. It is like someone replaced the entire place with an idyllic wonderland for cars, and all of the people living there with paid actors who are kind, humble, and friendly. Dear god. After doing a lap of almost all of the place I've found that it's a great way to find out all of the little things that the car isn't doing quite right and a great way to figure it all out. All in all, I drove for 4 hours a day for a week and nothing broke. I didn't even need to open the engine bay. This is by all means a great success, but it has left me with a list of things to potentially address. I also now have a 3D printed wheel fitment tool which annoyingly hasn't got any threads in it to actually assemble it. I might be able to tape it together to check the sizing I actually want to use, but it'll likely involving pulling the shocks out to properly measure travel at least at the front, and probably raise the car while I'm at it, at least in the rear. I scraped on quite a few things and I'm not sure how else to go about it. I was taking anything with a bump at what felt like 89 degree angles. And address those 10 other tasks. And wash the car. God damn it is dirty. And somehow, the weather was perfect the entire time - And because I was on the top of Mt Wellington it turns out it was very much about to freeze up there. I did something I typically never do and took some photos up there in what must have been -10 and the foggy felt like suspended ice, rather than mere fog. If you own a car in Australia, you owe it to yourself to do it.
    • Damn that was hilarious, and a bit embarrassing for skylines in general 😂 vintage car life ey. That R33 really stomped. Pretty entertaining stuff
    • Hi, I have a r32 gtr transmission. Does any of you guys have an idea how much power it will hold with the billet center plate and stock gearset? At what power level and use did yours brake with or without billet plate? Thanks, Oystein Lovik
    • Saw this replica police car based on a Mitsubishi Starion XX parked next to a 'police box' (it's literally a box) in Hirohata, Himeji City in Hyogo prefecture the other day. It's owned by Morii-san who is a local Mitsubishi Starion enthusiast. According to a local radio station blog post, he always wanted to make a police car himself based on ones he saw in his favourite Manga comics.  As it's illegal to modify a car to look like a police car and drive on the road, Morii-san tried many times to get permission from Aboshi police station headquarters nearby. They refused initially by after they got tired of that they granted him permission. However, the car can only be displayed on private property and obviously can't be registered as long as the police livery is present. The car was completed at a cost of 1.5 million yen (US$ 10,000) in addition to the car cost. A location was chosen outside Hirohata Police box where the car can easily been seen from the street. Morii-san has two other Starion road cars, both widebody GSR-VRs.
