Gear Selection Problems

Hey guys, just signed up to this forum,

Ive only owned my 03 v35 for less then a week and in the work

Carpark this morning, I reverse parked and then went

Into 1st gear (6spd man) to roll forward half a metre,

Upon trying to go back into neutral to shutdown, I found that I couldn't

Just wondering If any other V35 owners have heard or had the same issue.

Ive basically tried everything and had 2 others even try.

Still drives, but just cannot get out of 1st gear, considering

Ringing up the dealer and making him pay for a tow truck

Sounds like the shifter mechanism has failed internally, the car is under statutory warranty so take it back, and show your displeasure.

I would be pissed, but it may not be their fault... It may have been traded/auctioned in that state.

Is that a common problem though @ 35xxx kms?

Wouldn't surprise me if the clocks been wound back before

It was imported but still...

I suppose theres no fix to this problem atm other then to get it towed

No, obviously not as Nissan would have had to do a factory recall. I would say the clock has had a fair bit wound off it...

Got a guy coming to look at it in the car park, will let you know the outcome.

Good luck, hopefully they sort you out.

I have a spare 6 spd for parts if they are required, but at a guess they will need to replace the box for you.
