jezzrrr
Just did my first drag session at Kwinana today in my R33 GTR and ran 11.9 but I reckon I can do better as my technique leaves a bit to be desired: I was launching car at 7500-8000 rpm steppping off clutch, got a fair bit of wheelspin and was bouncing off the rev limiter after about 15m (also my reaction time was .5 so could be a bit quicker) Anyone got any suggestions - have to say Ive done a dozen or so launches on the street and got the thing going a treat but the strip at Kwinana seemed very slippery compared to the road - I expected it to be gripier. Cheers Jeremy Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/43438-technique-qn/ Share on other sites
benm
(also my reaction time was .5 so could be a bit quicker)Go on the 2nd yellow light, by the time your brain/car reacts it is always green. I seem to be getting consistent 0.1-0.2's, pity the remaining 400m isn't as good have to say Ive done a dozen or so launches on the street and got the thing going a treat but the strip at Kwinana seemed very slippery compared to the road - I expected it to be gripier.Weird isn't it. You would think that a fully prep'd track would provide heaps of grip, bit it is still a work of art to get a respectable 60ft time. What size tyres and what pressure were you running? A 1.827sec 60ft is pretty decent in an R33 GTR. It will put you in my Top10 60ft list (when I update it with your details). rev210
drop the rear tyre pressure to 20psi if you haven't already tried that. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/43438-technique-qn/#findComment-886876 Share on other sites

jezzrrr
Thanks guys, I also didnt realise that the time for th run DOESNT start until you get moving, I thought it started when the light went green and I was concentrating too much on the light so next time I might just try to get a good time Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/43438-technique-qn/#findComment-897704 Share on other sites
