Recommended Posts

6 hours till the A-Bomb gets fired up, I'll make sure not to feed it before I leave as I hear it's got a breakfast of RBs and 4g63s waiting for it at QR ;)

(In all seriousness though getting pretty keen for tomorrow)

Is any one staying for the mighty car mods meat in that day? If so are all the skylines parking together? Thanks

I'll be staying around for a bit mate, then heading up to the ASPA meet at willowbank

Yeah great fun, first time at the track and had an absolute blast. had a few rookie errors

100% full tank.... (left turn lateral G causing a little bit of fuel to spill out the cap... frkkkkkkk :P)

and popped an intake hose off the turbo on thye last straight.,.... (i think/hope) ill wait for her to cool and ytake to her with a spanner and a can of redbull.

Thanks for organising sucha good event!

Dan

Had a ball today, the evo club are a good bunch, hopefully they run with us again, nothing bets an evo chopping.lol, probably the best one ive been to for a while, keep up the good work guys, but i cant leave in this note, had to have another evo crack, see picture.

This is my new friend ernie the evo,so sorry but i still got to chop you.

Thanks guys had another fun day no shuddering in the steering replaced pads machined rotors also balance and wheel alignment done. Ran good for a stock standard.

good to see you again, maybe lakeside next time?

The Qld Evo Owners Group would really like to thank SAU for the invite to join you guys today. Everyone of the Evo guys reported back to me that they had a ball this morning & we would be honoured to join you guys again for other events.

One of our members suffered a major failure in the form of a suspected broken gearbox, 550hp @ the wheels will do that sometimes but all in all an awesome morning.

It's always a shame when someone breaks something at happy laps.

    • Oh, also, forgot to add these photos I believe.
    • Thought i'd update on this. I was able to get in contact with Craig Lieberman and later on Darryl Alison (owner of Kaizo Industries). Darryl was able to help me verify that my car was in fact one of theirs and is helping me find more info on mine !
    • There's restrictor pills in the stock boost control hoses. That's how they set the amount that was bled off and hence the "high" boost setting. The usual mod in the day was to remove it and send the "high" boost setting up to about 14 psi.
    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
