You need to use a timing light.

The ECU is telling the engine to fire at 15 degrees, its only an output. It doesnt know where the base timing actually is thats why this has to be set. Consult will help to make sure the ECU is outputting timing at 15 degrees but you can move the CAS all day and the value on the computer will not change

Hi i got a question can you adjust the cam angle sensor timing to the correct degrees aka 15 degress tdc, with the nissan consult computer or do you have to use a timing light.

for future reference, what the computer reads at idle is what it "thinks" it's getting.. it's up to you to use a timing light to sync the 15 BTDC to what the computer assumes it's getting.
