Budget a couple of days around the north west.... a good guide to find great roads in Tassie- "the dumber the name the better the roads!"

I'd budget a day to rock it down the west coastal roads to Hobart.

Base out of Hobart for a few... climb the mountain and mountain roads, reaserch the Targa stages (all open and fee public roads). Then bang on down south, to Port Arther/Dunnally southport. (stop at the Dunally bakery... best apple pies and meat pies ever!).

March 22 is drift practice at Baskerville and 28th is Tasmania 400 at Symonds Plains. 23 poatena mountain race! jump on the cams calender for all the dates.

Cheers

Justin

Nice work man You should have a good time with some of those roads. Any reason for the backtrack from Kings Meadows to Strahan? If it were me I'd do the trip anti clockwise and head from Devonport - Strahan - Hobart- Swansea ( following the A3 Tasman Hwy) - Kings Meadows ( following the B34 Lake Leake Hwy) - Devonport.

That way you get to see the East Coast too which is a really lovely part of Tas. If you had the time a side trip into Freycinet National Park/Coles Bay would be well worth it.

Not sure about the ferry prices as it's been 10 years since I last went on it but why the two cars? You guys coming just to do a cruise holiday? I'm sure if you guys were keen there'd be a few boys who might be interested in joining you for a leg or two of the trip. Get a few local cars out and about.

G'day Brodie,

Reason why I have to go to Kings meadows is I have to see a client for business.. quick 45 minute meeting.

then head to Strahan. I've heard about Freycinet Park... I'll definitely check that out. that map will be loosely followed. Just acts as a guide. My mate is bringing his motorbike. Yeah, just to check Tasmania out a bit... I'll be back for sure.

If anyone is keen message me for the dates.

Yeah I figured it might be something like that considering it's a specific address lol. Well you'll have fun no matter what route you take because it's an awesome place with some awesome roads. I'll shoot you a PM might be interested in a bit of a cruise when your down south.

    • That sounds like no chance of even importing one for road registering then Now I see why Duncan wants to check LHD rules for Targa...   I wonder how "bolt in" the AWD would be if you got one imported from the US and swapped it to an AUD one
    • Not to mention they drive like a bucket of bolts! yuck!
    • Ha ha ha, that's fair mate! We have the crackhead dogs now. Mainly because the missus wants the crazy dogs while she still has the energy and capacity to be able to keep up with them! Ha ha our current two are both Working GSD, there brothers and sisters (from the same litters) are in Police, Corrective Services, and I believe one did end up in defence force too. They're wild and fun, yet right now, both curled up asleep on the lounge room floor while we watch some TV. Mal is very likely the next dog (unless I get my couch potato guardian dog 😛 )   What are your Kitties names? Are you planning some house work, like those high kitty shelves, built in scratching post, and some cat passages from one room to another room?
    • Maine Coone, did look at but to big and fluffy As for performance dogs, we had Mals at work, performance dogs are fun to watch, but, way to much work for this old rooster
