Hey all,

You has how many horses? Derren from Tuned Performance is throwing a dyno day to celebrate the opening of Tuned Performance. A great opportunity to come and see what numbers your car actually pulls. There will be a number of cars there and would be an awesome day out. He has also agreed to become a club sponsor and I shall post what benefits members get once we fix our shit up.

Event: Tuned Performance Dyno Day

Location: Tuned Performance, 2/17 Robinson Road, Virginia

Date: Saturday, 22nd March

Time: 9:30am

Cost: $40 Members; $45 Non-Members

Requirements: This is an Open event, so you do not need to be a member to attend as everyone is welcome.

We ask that attendees obey all Road rules.
We don't want people racing up and down the street or general Hooning.

Remember you are representing the Club, so we need to be on our best behaviour.

See you all there!

Its the same day as the SAU happy laps. Maybe we can all get a group together to go down there after the laps of happy have been completed

It is too! Excellent idea mate. For some reason, thought that happy laps was on the 23rd...

I would say no to doing a run in anything other than 4th (5th in Scotts car) They will be power runs.

I may be down depending on work schedule if only to watch.

I will get a reading in 4th gear lol

I would have thought doing a power run in 5th would be bad for the gearbox? As it's really an over drive gear only? I'm no gearbox expert but when towing it's not recommended to change to 5th gear as the load is to great. So I assume nearly 600hp would be the same?

    • It's funny, as Ive seen plenty of people use them in cheap builds on YT. And they actually go okay, even though a lot of other maxspeedingrods stuff is terrible. Those turbos seem reliable enough, the only part being, a good quality turbo that is "identical" to it, will out perform it day in and day out. In both a lower boost threshold, and the ability to flow more air at the same boost pressure. As a cheap cheap replacement, not a terrible choice. For cheap and shouldn't blow in a day, not terrible (like other eBay/Temu turbos) for low cost and still decent performance, that's where the question comes in to play from the results I've seen. I'd actually find it hilarious to buy one, and strap it to a paddock basher or some other cheap as POS originally NA car, and send it to the moon!
    • The maxpeedingrods turbo is cheap and bolts on to stock parts. I think you just need a bigger silicone coupler for the intake. Its a cheap china turbo, but it's been running on mine for almost 3 years at 16-19 psi.
    • What do they look like right after you've tried to start it with everything connected? Also post photos of what they actually look like.
    • Also wanted to say, my new spark plugs are blackened looks like it's very rich. I have splitfire coilpacks but stock coilpack loom and ignitor. I tried directly grounding the ignitor ground to body as well.
