Help With Awd System S1

I've tried doing a search and look through the stickys on what to do here but couldn't find anything.

I just recently come into ownership of a 1996 nissan stagea. Auto rs4. It has a greddy blue piggy back ecu thing.

It seems to be stuck in rwd mode for some reason I'm not sure how to check if the pads in the transmission are clapped out or not. Or if it's as simple as a switch?

I got under the car and the tails haft is still in there I can spin the front tyres and hold the tailshaft? Is that normal?

Check the 4WD fuse, some people take it out as a crude method for going RWD

Yeah I checked that as well its still there...
