The nice people at Rays (and Enkei, et al) have solved this problem by producing forged monoblocks. No you can not only bling your car with some nice phat wheels, but they slash unsprung weight while increase your contact patch :(

LW.

Fair comment Lucien, but have you seen the price of Rays and Enkei wheels? I just reckon there's more effective ways to spend a few thousand dollars if you're on a budget.

Here's me struggling to front the cash for a 3" exhaust so I guess a set of nice rims are pretty low on my list, especially considering I've already got some reasonably nice ones on the car as it is, just like Mark's new car.

I've gotta say though, Rays rims are gorgeous. And nice and light. And plenty tough too.

...Ben

ahh i hope i didnt give the impression that im after looks and no go

priority number 1 with cars for me is handling. so that'll be done first. performance will follow. then some rims. but yeah i aint fussed. the car will be going to a secret location whilst im overseas, as it's already suffered a knock from a car hoist while it has been in fatz' garage!!

anyway rays rims. got no idea. will do a google search.

Nathan, looks like we're both out for next year, you'd better talk to steve about the referal, hopefully we'll get to come along and watch.

I'll give you a hand with the pics next time I'm around, prolly tomorrow with a huge axle in the boot

    • Yep, the closest base tune available was for the GTT, I went with that and made all the logical changes I could find to convert it to Naturally Aspirated. It will rev fine in Neutral to redline but it will be cutting nearly 50% fuel the whole way.  If I let it tune the fuel map to start with that much less fuel it wont run right and has a hard time applying corrections.  These 50% cuts are with a fuel map already about half of what the GTT tune had.  I was having a whole lot of bogging when applying any throttle but seem to have fixed that for no load situations with very aggressive transient throttle settings. I made the corrections to my injectors with data I found for them online, FBCJC100 flowing 306cc.  I'll have to look to see if I can find the Cam section. I have the Bosch 4.9 from Haltech. My manifold pressure when watching it live is always in -5.9 psi/inHg
    • Hi My Tokico BM50 Brake master cylinder has a leak from the hole between the two outlets (M10x1) for brake pipes, I have attached a photo. Can anyone tell me what that hole is and what has failed to allow brake fluid to escape from it, I have looked on line and asked questions on UK forums but can not find the answer, if anyone can enlighten me I would be most grateful.
    • It will be a software setting. I don't believe many on here ever used AEM. And they're now a discontinued product, that's really hard to find any easy answers on. If it were Link or Haltech, someone would be able to just send you a ECU file though.

    • Have you checked cam to crank timing and confirmed balancer marks are correct?
