will be taking some tomorrow, I borrowed Marcs digital tonight

When do you get your new rocket???  What are you getting?  Or is that a stupid question...

Cheers

Gary

soon gary ... soon...... :)

i might even pop by your place in it to return you the tape :headspin:

the 34 GTR front does bolt straight on, and it looks very very very nice there are a few getting around in Japan.  It was the original idea but I like the idea of people not knowing what it is...The ultimate sleeper

Heheheh. . too late dude.. anyone that has followed/have knowledge on nissan imports would know the details of your car.. :)

Tho the uprated RB26DETT version (?) now.. that is the ultimate sleeper! heheheh :)

Still that is one sweet looking car you got, keen to come out on one of the cruises? Wouldnt mind having a look. ;)

Saw it today.. strange looking creature.. but driving along without a close look you would just think it was probably a volvo. Except when you see the nice engine lurking under the hood :D

I love the little unicorn "S" badge on it ;)

Hi Gary, good to see another Stagea on the go. Mine arrived 5 weeks ago and is still getting complied. Typical Nissan problem with rolling updates, where they use some new model parts at the end of the run of old models. In my Stagea's case that was a rear left hand door, it has the later model intrusion bars and all the other 3 doors have the early model intrusion bars. So it is stuck in no man's land with the beaurocrats at DOTARS. Hopefully it will be sorted out next week. We have a race meeting to go to next weekend and I need the Stagea tow car.

I have some plans for our Stagea as I have some good bits coming off the RB20DET in the R32 GTST, as it is getting a new RB31DET;

GCG ball bearing hi flow RB25DET turbo

Performance Metalcraft split dump, engine pipe and hi flow cat

3" exhaust

FMIC and alloy pipework

Jamex panel filter and CAI

Autospeed (2 valve style) boost controller

Since it's an auto, I will have to make do with an SAFC for fuel tuning and no doubt it will need a set of Koni adj shocks, some adj to the caster, decent brake pads and a set of Hollow Type R's in 17 X 8. Not to mention a HR towbar and a big transmission cooler.

I am looking forward to seeing what others have in mind for their Stagea's. ;)

Sydneykid,

They are a great vehicle to own. Seems like you and I are doing the same sort of mods....

turbo ,FMIC, exhaust, boost, suspension. I am converting mine to manual in the next week or two, already have the gearbox just have to sort out the rest of the parts I will need, seems everything needs to be 34 GTR ( my wallet hurts ) or RS260 ( now wallet really hurts ). The only other mod I will eventually doing is the RB26 swap and all the computer bits and pieces as well as the brake upgrade and a little body styling. At the end of it all should look nice and go like the clappers, just what every family wagon should do...

Would love to see pickies of your car when you get it.

Cheers

Gary

    • Hello Liam - HA - somewhere in flies - possibly I have an update, but I have been so busy, projects have taken a back seat to getting business back on track.  I will let you know the outcome, but I think I am going to go for the 8HP,  CHEERS.  ELVIS
    • Thanks Joshuaho96, yes - as someone else also suggested, the 8HP seems the 'smart choice' - HA - and ZERO to do with cost, but I am sure 8 speeds will be better than 6 speeds - HA - maybe.  I will purchase a new 8HP,  Thanks.  ELVIS.
    • Nobody said anything about getting a "...cheap Falcon box..."- it was JUST a question about a specific transmission.  And YOU may have a problem with not enough $ - HA - I do NOT - so please keep your comments like you are some financial guru to yourself.  BUT - much appreciated re the cost of a new 8HP and I twill probably be the way I go.  Thanks.  ELVIS.
    • Most people I know in the BMW world are swapping 6HPs for 8HPs. The 6HP has a big issue with one of the clutch drum bushings wearing out shockingly early which leads to them going into limp mode going into 5th/6th gear as the oil pressure loss from the worn bushing causes clutch slip. Even with the adaptations in shifting the TCU can't bump line pressure enough to keep the clutches from slipping and burning. I've personally looked at a 335d with 6HP28 with one owner and ~90k miles on it and the transmission adaptations were way out of spec and even though it nominally drove ok I'm confident it would have needed a full rebuild sooner than later. Other than that they're fine, but the 8HP doesn't really have weird issues like this to my knowledge and they're in everything these days so pulling them out of crashed cars isn't too hard.
    • There is an ABS pump and a few solenoids. You could trigger the front/rear solenoids with a pressure bleeder attached with a Consult 2.
