"Darwin price" - hahahahahha.

Got to be kidding. Open speed limit, no local approved panel beating wshops for imports. Guys, cars cost a heap to insure up here. The major problem is getting a company to insure the imports in the first place. I have got a good deal through previous business done with Shannons, thats it.

Masa kit Primo? Looks like a winner.

Ken

I asked when I got my quote, it was ~$300 cheaper outside Sydney, Melbourne Brisbane etc. :D

SK,

I see you got your Stagea. Good stuff. Mine is now manual, has 3½ inch mandrel exhaust, Profec B boost controller, k&n pod filter, lowered suspension. Next to come are the igniter packs and power fc then turbo and fmic. wooo hooo i can't wait to have it all finished. I didn't get the chance to throw it on the dyno before the mods...... I couldn't wait!!!

Cheers

Gary

Jay,

Turbo to cat is slightly different because of the rear gearbox cross member, the exhaust needs to go closer to the passenger side of the car by about an inch. The centre is slightly longer than 33, the centre muffler is about 3 - 4 inches further back. The rear section is different because the wagon is longer from the rear of the fuel tank to the rear bumper by nearly 6 inches.

The short answer is I got a custom one made.....

Cheers

Gary

Hi Guys, having finished with the DOTARS bureaucracy, I am now dealing with the effen RTA bureaucrats.

It's all my fault, I made a big mistake, I paid for my greenslip on line :wassup:

Me = "It is good enough for renewing, so it must be good enough for first time rego?". :angel:

RTA = "Didn't you know that when registering a car for the first time you have to have the original of the greenslip with you". :bs!:

Me = "Well the NRMA let me do my greenslip on line and one of their questions is "is this a first time rego?". I have the screen printed receipt with the policy number and the receipt number and the vin number of vehicle". :rofl:

RTA= "No, the receipt number from the NRMA and the policy number aren't good enough." "There are other numbers on the :worship:ORIGINAL greenslip that we need."

Me= "I have the NRMA on my mobile now, what numbers do you want?" :Pimp2:

RTA = "listen, I told you, we need the original of the greenslip." :throwup:

Me ="Why?" :headspin:

RTA = "That's the system" :Bang:

So now I have to wait until the original greenslip is posted out to me by the NRMA.

Hi Gary, was that differences to a GTR exhaust or a GTST exhaust?

  • 2 weeks later...

Time for an update..............

Two weeks working interstate, so down to the RTA with the ORIGINAL greenslip.

RTA= "All the paperwork is now in order"

Me = "Great where's my rego?" :(

RTA = "Bad luck, you have been selected for a random inspection"

Me = "No problems, let's go" :cheers:

RTA = "Sorry, but you have to book it in"

Me = "Next Saturday?" :throwup:

RTA = " Sorry the Inspection Stations are only open Monday to Friday"

Me = "But I work" :D

RTA = "So XXXXday, at YYYYYYYYY"

Me = "Then they will register it?" :)

RTA = "On no, you will have to come back here to register it"

Me = "That means a whole day off work" :D

RTA = "Sorry, that's the system :Bang:

Time for the last update.....

Took the Stagea along for it's Identity Check.

Waited for 30 minutes in the que, I had an appointment but that doesn't matter.

Only took them 40 minutes to agree the engine and chasis numbers. :headspin:

Asked question " Must have been my bad luck getting a random inspection?' :boohoo:

RTA Inspector, "Oh no, we inspect ALL RAWS Imports for their first rego". :uzi:

"Why" :spew:

"It's the system" :Bang:

Went back to local RTA, waited in the que for 45 minutes. They finally took my money and I now have a registered Stagea ;)

Sk,

Sorry to hear about all the crap you had to go thru to get the rocket registered. But now it will be worth the wait. You will enjoy it.

Just fitted new bilstiens to her and now she really handles well. But unfortunately it raised the height a little, but hopefully that will sort itself out as it "beds in".

Next, is the brake upgrade and then the serious engine mods.

having trouble finding a Power FC for it though, so if anyone knows where to get one for the C34 Stagea please let me know.

cheers

Gary

Did you put them in yourself? I am looking into getting some bilsteins for the 32, just wondering what is involved with installing them (compared to the average shockie)....

Nothing :) They're a replacement strut, they're no different to a stocker in terms of putting it all in.

They're supplied with a new spring seat, all you need to do is swap over (or replace) the spring, bump stop, dust cover and the spring hat (the bit right at the top) and bolt it all into the car. So easy even I can do it :P

    • Hi...so a "development" here aswell The swap is "done" and car went "test drive" BUT it seems the clutch(maybe gearbox?) is a little bit sad? I bought this clutch kit https://justjap.com/products/xtreme-heavy-duty-organic-clutch-flywheel-kit-nissan-skyline-r31-r32-r33-push-type "Problem" is that the first gear is hard to put into and it seems that the clutch is not disengaged. It was not the problem with the old clutch...(or like sometime the first gear would not get as easy specialy when the fluid was cold) So? Can it be like...bad "install" or is the clutch wrong ((it should not have been) i done research to get the right one) Or is this "normal" with new clutch and needs to be break in?
    • @Duncan I can try  and thanks i did not thought about VIN and part numbers for 33/34. @GTSBoy yeah it looks like iam gonna do that
    • Forgot to include this but this is the mid section of my steering rack that looks like it has a thread/can be turned with that notch mentioned in the post:
    • Hey everyone, Wanted to pick some brains about this issue I'm having with rebuilding my 33 rack (PN is 49001-19U05). All of the tutorials/videos I've seen online are either R34 or S Chassis racks which seem to be pretty straightforward to disassemble but this process doesnt carry over to my rack. Few of the key differences that I've noted The pinion shaft on the other racks bolt on with 3 torx bolts: Whereas my rack bolts on with 2 allen head bolts: These changes are pretty inconsequential but the main difference is how you pull the actual rack out of the housing. The other skyline/s chassis racks can be taken out by tapping the rack out of the body with a socket and it just slides right out. I'm unable to do that with my rack because there's a hard stop at the end that doesn't let the seal/shaft be tapped out. Can also see a difference in the other end of the rack where mine has a notch that looks like you're able to use a big wrench to unthread 2 halves of the rack whereas the other racks are just kinda set in with a punch. My rack: Other racks: TLDR; Wanted to know if anyone has rebuilt this specific model of steering rack for the R33 and if there were any steps to getting it done easier or if I should just give this to a professional to get done. Sorry if this post is a bit messy, first one I've done.
    • I would just put EBC back on the "I would not use their stuff" pile and move on.
