Has anyone bought a car of Platinum vehicle sales Brisbane or had a RAWS compliance done by there workshop ?

I can't find any info anywhere about them apart from their own advertising.

Not saying there's anything moody but I'm thinking of buying a car of them and I'm just a bit uneasy .

:woot:

Do the normal checks see if you can get a copy of the Japanese auction sheet to. I think some people on the forum that can help with that

They sent me all the paperwork and it checks out ---the price is quite something else though , eeeek , :starwars:

Did you end up buying from platinum vehicle sales? I just bought a v36 from them and had it shipped to Adelaide

Failed vechile inspection because they hadn't changed the catalytic converters at compliance. Now I have the big expense to change them and they refuse to help

Yep I bought an EVO 7 GTA of Platinum , had some problems with the suspension --like 2 out of the 4 struts were rooted and the usual service everything bullshit , timing belt etc that you just have to expect with every import , Platinum came to the party mostly on the suspension and the car was a good quality unit overall , I'm still driving it quite happily 15 months later without any dramas.

My partner is a paralegal and I don't piss about being nice I go legal straight away with warranty issues ,and I mean straight away.

Gotta know that a single front strut OE , just the strut is $765.00 if you need incentive,

Paid primo price but it was either that or buy out of state and all the bullshit that goes along with that little fandango., has all the auction papers Jap gov klm certs , Jap Mits OE log and service books from new , revs paperwork shit etc so I reckoned it was worth the coin.

Don't look for a tradeback anywhere with the Eagers group if you're looking to buy another car though, I did it as a half way serious exercise on a newby about 5 months ago , they wont even return your calls ,rude pricks.

Sorry to hear you're having issues , why wont they come to the party , I'd be guessing that it's because they didn't have to give you a roadworthy out of state or that the Queensland roadworthy isn't recognised in SA ?

How much did you pay for compliance? Most charge between 2k to 3k where as the cats themselves cost around 2.5k so i dont think there are any workshops out there that do change cats on these cars unless otherwise you pay for them.

My EVO GTA was complied by GT Compliance in Silverwater NSW not by Platinum or Eagers (group) who own Platinum and whilst the compliance certificate and paperwork were with the rest of the paperwork that came with the car the actual invoice for the compliance work wasn't .

Interestingly my cat is down as having been changed in the compliance paperwork .

I have had the new cats fitted and credit to Platinum Dealer Principal Michael Kennedy who paid for the new cats. Once I managed to get past the salesman and service manager and talked to Michael the issue of who was going to pay was resolved in less than five minutes. Guess I was lucky!

Well done , and good on Platinum , did you not get the compliance paperwork with the car , what has been changed and done to the car at compliance is all in that ? --as well as who did the job.

Maybe ask them for a copy of the compliance certificate and paperwork for your records if you haven't got it.--just a thought----

    • Sorry to hear your HFM BM57 was faulty,  did you contact HFM I would hope they would be at least grateful for the information if there was some sort of manufacturing fault, you would hope they would be sympathetic even if your item was 2 years old if it had never been fitted. May I ask where it leaked from ?
    • Cats are called Bella, and Donna...  Like that poisonous plant And I remember your 2 monsters, I remember making a little bit of wee when you let them out... LOL I have already installed cat doors into the laundry where their kitty litter is, and the sun room, apart from the cat doors there's not going to be any permanent mounted stuff on the interior walls (interior doors are cheap and easy to replace) I will get a outdoor cat cage thingie once I finish the landscaping out back... https://catnip.com.au/ The only off limit areas are the main bedroom and the gym room....but, currently the cats are curled up in bed, in the main bedroom with the Mrs.....LOL, the off limits for the kittens to the main bedroom lasted about 5 minutes with Jackie I currently only have 1 free standing huge cat tree multiple level scratching post thingie in the lounge room, but, I will be getting another one soon now that I'm happy with the furniture layout in the back room and have a perfect spot for it
    • All of this is making it seem clear that running the Coppermix twin was definitely the way to go, especially in hindsight with how insane tariffs have gotten and the strength of the USD vs yen at the time.
    • That sounds like no chance of even importing one for road registering then Now I see why Duncan wants to check LHD rules for Targa...   I wonder how "bolt in" the AWD would be if you got one imported from the US and swapped it to an AUD one
    • Not to mention they drive like a bucket of bolts! yuck!
