im soooo upsett!!!!!it had been slipping a little for the past few weeks, nothing major, just felt more like it was missing boost a bit.

anyway i took the line to get serviced today at F&F imports and Dave told me that it was the clutch and it would need to be fixed in a while.

driving to a girls house tonight going up William slim or Hovell (whichever one goes from the parkway to belconnen) anyway as the slope crept up i went to put my foot down to speed up, and it went on me, just reved straight out to redline so i dropped to 4th and it was ok. once i got to her house the smell was almost unbearable,(im sure a few of u know what i mean) i just got home then and it had gone in all gears but 1st, e.g. change to second=rev out, 3rd=rev out, etc.... so i crawled up my hill to get it home. im soooo upsett, i already owe enough on the car now im gonna have to fork out at least $5OO for a heavy duty clutch (as im bout to up the boo5t) im considering selling it but at the end of the day i dont think i could part with it.

anyway does anyone know of anyone in canberra that has good clutches, cheap?

it'll need to be heavy duty, but the car is now officially off the road as i can hardly drive it in 1st. to make matters worse, my mums car blew up today and is pretty much unfixable, so i cant even drive her car either, im going to cry :(

Sh#t man, I hate it when car stuff goes wrong that you hust can't afford. Sorry, I can't offer anywhere cheap to get the clutch done, the only thing I can offer is my condolences. Maybe try some of the SAU sponsors? Just Jap have always been good to me, and putting in a clutch can be done by most mechanics, so just have a ring around.

hee hee yeah right i'm still getting around with the twin plater on low boost it's still grabbing (now and then) i wanna see how far i can get with it b4 it completly goes, like smoke and smell hee ee hee. (so far been to wakefield park 3 times with it in this condition)

in it's replacement i have a carbon twin plater to replace it once it does decide to let go, at a nice price of $3500.

sorry to hear veilside r33, like amaru has said go see ed to help you out.

the clutch is sitting at the mechanics ready to go in, it's just that he wants to do more mods to it thus i'm sceptical in taking it in, until the rest of the parts come in.

i'm itching to go on the 26th but being it on a monday don't think can make it as it's the busiest for me at work.

just called ed, im looking at $1100 for a fitted heavy duty clutch. which is way out of my budget. but as always he was very helpfull in suggesting a few ideas. i also mentioned that im upping the boost so he told me to come by for a (something test) cant remeber. to make sure i dont det the engine when i do boost it.

so im gonna have to keep looking, i know of heaps of dudes with race clutches (i think daiken) that have picked them up for well blow $500.

if anyone knows of anymore websites they can suggest then please dont hesitate to do so!!

as always thanks again for all of your support!!!!!

ah ok thats fair enough... my only advice is dont get a brass button for daily driving :( other than that, pick it up for as cheap as you can then find somewhere to fit it

Also try Unique Auto Sports - www.nismo.com.au

Theres also www.performanceconnect.com which has a listing of alot of car parts people etc.

ok,im just about to find a final price on an exedy heavy duty clutch from melbourne. its a ceramic button clutch that i think will be very good. price should be under $400.

my only remaining question is, is it definatly my clutch??? i dont want to get it and fit it and find out it was the slave cylinder or something.

i was told by dave at f&f that my clutch was on the way out pretty soon.

then on my way to belco, up a hill i put my foot down and it revved straight out to redline and by the time i arrived the car smelt really dirty.

and just b4 i got home after a round about i put it into second and it revved out then grabbed....3rd=rev out, 4th=rev out. i nursed it home in 1st even though it still occasionally slipped a little. i then put it flat on my driveway, put it in 3rd and tried to take off, it simply revved straight out asif i had my foot on the clutch. and after the round about the car started smelling really bad again.

so based on this info, is it my clutch????

ok just got final price.

Exedy heavy duty caramic button clutch. $400 shipped to canberra. im bery happy with the price. ive called Ed and he's agreed to take his origianl quote down to $400, so for $800 all up shipped and fitted im pretty happy. now all i need to know if its actually my clutch thats the problem lol!!!

Ok guys, heres the final result.

Clutch: exedy heavy duty ceramic button clutch, with PVR plate= $378

Shipping: $41 overnight through TNT, ( i will never use these guys again, terrible )

Fitting: Fitted by Joe from Skyline Performance $310.

Overall: $739

im really happy with how much i saved, and how good the clutch is, and Joe was good enough to take a bit extra off the final price of fitting aswell!!! the car runs really well now, all i have to do is stop stalling it at every sat of lights lol. and restrain myself for the next 1000kms to let it bed in.

once again thanks to everyone for their help and advice!!!

Andrew.

    • Dear folks My family members have 4 different cars : Triton 2015 and Corolla 2011 and Mazda3 2012 and Hyundai Elantra 2014 Looking to buy engine oil funnel spill free What I found are are below  https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0BBTTJNKX?ref=ppx_pt2_mob_b_prod_image&th=1 https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/145553221359?srsltid=AfmBOoqYBU6Ptw0LU_bAp_k67U3qkF97HHvePkA7iHZw8vUmiwoIRaRr https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09X23TCS5?th=1 Is there a funnel with attachment that fits most cars ? Don't mind to spend for a decent quality  Thx
    • Stock ECU (or more accurately stock tune) absolutely refuses to go over 10psi and behaves like you have seen. The Nistune is the same if it is the stock tune. If the Nistune chip has been tuned, the resulting tune could be literally anything for any combination of parts. The Nistune just makes the stock ECU Tunable.
    • So stock ECU does not like anything above 10 psi?  That Nistune one is just for "try" if it will be any different, I know it need to be tune for that. I know but YOU may know about these problem but i/we dont. They few little Skylines here let alone people who know anything about tham so that is why iam asking here
    • So now we have a radiator with no attachments whatsoever. It lifts up with a particularly tight spot between the drivers side air box mount and the lower radiator outlet, but if you've got this far you will sort that too. This is the lower mounts with the rad out so you can see where the rubber bushes go, it is a straight shot upwards Done! Assembly is the reverse of disassembly, with blood less likely to be shed.
    • Right, onto the second last trick. The Air Con condenser is mounted to the front of the radiator and stays in the car when the radiator is removed. There are 2x 10mm headed self tappers holding the top of the condenser to the radiator, remove those The bottom of the condenser is attached to the radiator with clips. You need to lift the condenser out of those clips and clear (up, then forward). f**ked if  could work out how to do that last bit with the front bumper on. I hope you can, and you share the trick.  Bumper removal probably deserves its own thread one day once I've recovered the will to live, but basically you need to remove the wheels, front inner guard liners (clips and 10mm headed bolts), the self tapper between the guard and the bumper at the rearmost point of the bumper (same as an R32 that bit), any remaining clips at the top/front of the grill, an absolute bastard design with a plate that holds the top of the bumper above the headlight each side (only 1 bolt which is tricky to get to, but the plate catches 2 places on the bumper and must be removed....carefully!) and push clips between the bumper and guard under the headlight. If you've done all that you will be faced with wiring for the fog lights on both sides and in ADM Q50 RS at least, 4 nasty tight plugs on the driver's side for the ADAS stuff. So, the clips at the bottom look like this on drivers side (looking from the front) And on the passenger side (also from the front), you can see this one is already out Clearance on both of these are super tight; the condenser needs to move up but the upper rad support mount prevents that, and the radiator can't move down far because it is (rubber) mounted. Once you achieve the impossible and drop the condenser off those mounts so it does not stop the rad moving, you are good to go
