Hi !

Car is hard to get into gear when idling, Once in gear it is grabbing and the car starts to move,

4th Gear up a hill with the gas on clutch doesn't slip..

Its had a brand new Heavy Duty clutch only 35 000kms ago, I would expect more life out of it,

Could it need adjusting? ive changed the fluid and still no good,

Whats the easiet way to adjust? at the pedal?

Thanks
James

Your symptoms are not the symptoms of a worn out clutch. They are the symptoms of a clutch that is not adjusted properly. The "improper adjustment" would be of the sort where the pedal is sloppy at the top of stroke and only engaging the clutch actuation arm partway down through the pedal stroke, rather than up near the top. Hence you only ever get partial disengagement of the clutch.

How much dead pedal is there at the top of the stroke?

The other possibility is a broken pedal, pivot, pedal box, clutch fork, etc etc. Possibly also hydraulic problems.

Hi GTSBoy,

Thanks for the info!

I had a look last night and found it was the Pedal Adjustment,

it was very sloppy at the top of the pedal and when pressed it was only disengaging half of the pedal,

Wound the rod that connects to the pedal in 3mm and its now perfect!

Thanks
James
