I like Japanese stuff, Cusco and Kazama are always good.

I've been meaning to pick up the Cusco rear brace that goes on the back of the 33 strut towers just because it looks better than the top mounted one and matches the front. Without modifying the rear parcel shelf. I put some new rear alpine speakers in the back a few weeks ago and it was a hassle to remove just for speakers. Any thoughts/opinions on what would be the best? I would assume that the top would be the best for rigidity and strength to match the front and the rear for body rigidity? Love the look of the Cusco stuff.

Seems no one is too interested in car talk? I bought a sushi roll a few weeks ago and wished it was a t-bone steak or a t-box or a x-box?

I'm looking at either a Kansai or Autoselect brace for my front and what ever for the rear. Finally got around to rebuilding my front hubs/struts/brakes last night. Time to look into doing the rears

Lol, these were posted 2 hours between each other?

Haven't had much personal experience with rear tower braces an a 33, can't imagine you're going to notice much of a difference between the 2 styles. Which ever one is easier to fit/will work for you.

Most stuff to do with heating and flues is 304 s/s 0.7mm thick because of its heat transfer properties. We sell it by the metre in s/s and m/s at work (the 16#) If you know what you want and let me know will be cost price:-) or Jarrahdale heating and cooling or perhaps kounis metal industries have the crimped lapped and swaged 0.7mm at God only knows what price. Will post a pic of the 0.7 crimped and swaged from my heater.

I will get you a price on a 3m 4" o/d length m/s and s/s from work which would be 16#. but would assume even at cost price would be expensive. I only build the stuff so have no idea on pricing. The price is saved by using the thinner guage material (0.7ish) and having the proper forming machienes like stratco. Loads of heater shops will carry it in the 0.7mm s/s but like stratco at a profit. I was going to use some 5" 16# tube a few years ago or same stormwater pipe filled with concrete so I could paint it with with marble paint look for AWSEMONESS on my gazebo but just got 100mm square posts sanded them back and stained them in Japan black because was going to cost a fortune in steel or pipe and concrete?

ill hunt around tomorrow for a better deal. surely someone selling the thin 0.7mm stuff has it cheaper than that. 

 

im also going to get the fire at its absolute max with heaps of small stuff and find out the absolute max temps im going to encounter so i know how much metal pipe i need before i can change to PVC.

    • Possibly avoid using a Cometic one unless the deck/head surface are perfectly flat. I did have a look just then and forgiving gaskets such as Tomei or Nitto don't exist for the FJ20, however the Bar-Tek or Kameari ones look good and might do the trick.
    • Because pipe threads for pipe things. M threads for bolt things. Throw some teflon sealant onto it and dust your hands off knowing you did the right thing, instead of going twice around the block to achieve a result using the wrong things. Of course, all of these solutions are ignoring the fact that the minimum thread pitch we're talking about here is 1.25mm, with the 1/4" in NPT or BPS being out around 1.4mm. You will need to know that the boss you're tapping has enough thickness for at least a few threads. That's one of the reasons that 1/8" is commonly used - because the pitch is <1mm. And why would you look to use 1/4" NPT in a BSP country anyway? Ugh.
    • Just throwing around ideas, does it need to be in the compressor cover? Why not the hot side piping?
    • 1/8NPT drill size = 8.7mm. Since the hole got messed up by me, it’s probably around 9mm.    So 1/4” NPT would be next step. A drill size of around 11mm would be preferred there which is not way of my M12 (drill 10.5mm and tap M12 threads)
