Water Pump pissing itself...Help!

Did a search on this forum just to confirm, and it seems that my water pump is pissing itself. So i need to know wat after market pumps would fit the 1993 R33 line, besides genuine ni$$an? How much it costs, and including labour?

i bought a vl turbo water pump from supercheap auto, cost about $70 iirc. i got that put in along with the other belts replaced (100k service), paid $280 in labour.

genuine pump is under $100 from memory

Nissan GTR N1 one is about $160... they're not too expensive. Whether they actually make any noticeable difference to the engines cooling who knows.

My pump was leaking slightly a while ago (like 10 000km), and then it just stopped. So bugger it! How bad is it "pissing" itself??

it cost me $220 to get a mechanic out to replace mine..that includes the pump.

How bad is it leaking? Goes through the whole resviour (spelling) in like almost a week, this is under normal driving. So i need to top it up to the max every weekend. But its not squirting or anything, just dripping.

And i'm just afraid that the coolant will wet the belts while i'm driving, a i don't really wanna know wat will happen next.

So yea i think in perth the genuine nissan pump is like $180, and i can get aftermarket ones for like $80 from super cheap or coventry. But i heard that the aftermarket pump does not exactly fit correctly like there are extra 2 holes or 2 holes missing somethin like that. Correct me on this anyone?

So yea might get the pump replace asap before anything worst happens.

By the way wat coolant do people use? Just had this thought that the coolant might cause the leak?

usually when the water pump bearings go they start to leak from the bottom of the pumps pulling unit! cant comment on the vl turbo pumps, but even if there are extra holes the sealant you put around to make a gasket will seal those anyway!

oh and the N1 pump runs lower pressure than standard, it designed to be revved alot so normal driving will have lower water pressure!
