Greetings,

I'm hearing from my head shop that there is some issue with the Brian Crower single springs + Ti retainers with the factory shims and buckets. Apparently the retainers to not have a recess to keep the shims in place under the buckets (centered on top of valve stems) OR the valve stem extends too high up from the locks and retainers for the factory shims to be retained (he wasn't totally clear).

I have SS BC valves, BC valve guides, BC single springs, BC Ti Retainers, BC locks, factory shims, factory buckets. Basically ALL BC parts in the valvetrain...Has anyone had this issue before? Does anyone have any of these parts installed currently? If so, what was the solution?

I'm curious and I left a message with BC technical and I do believe the shop is working with BC for a solution, but I'm just questioning that this could be the case or what else could be the issue with this installation.

Thanks in advance.

Patrick

Heard back from BC technical. They say that the BC single spring retainers are a direct dimensional copy of the factory retainer, except in Titanium. I didn't get so far as the valves, but he said he had talked to the shop the day before and explained the rest to them. So, per his advice we shouldn't be seeing any issues.

I'll wait to see what the shop says.
