Right so here goes,

(I've built plenty of cars over my years but have never documented it)

So I swapped a car for this white R33, some of you may have seen it before, most of you probably not.

post-140799-14389417163395_thumb.jpgpost-140799-14389417314616_thumb.jpgpost-140799-14389417480699_thumb.jpg

Swapped it very late at night so I didn't really get a good look at it, it's not a bad base though just there is a lot of missing/not working parts.

And because it has no mufflers it's damn loud! So I got home about 1am and not wanting to wake the neighbors I reversed it down my driveway and opened the door to push it, as I was very tired and not looking this happened

post-140799-14389419410742_thumb.jpgpost-140799-14389419543008_thumb.jpg

The door got caught on my bobber frame :(

Anyway I'm not a big fan of cheaper parts, they have there place though, so the plan and list of changes are long..

Firstly I already have a new front bar to replace the cracked one that was on there (thanks Corey)

post-140799-1438942171253_thumb.jpg

And also replaced the boot with drag wing with a gtr one and stupid me shut it before I changed the lock now I can't open it as the boot release doesn't work

post-140799-14389422739717_thumb.jpg

And new wheels to replace the standard s14 wheels that were on it lol

post-140799-14389423371879_thumb.jpg

It has a microtech ltx12 which is kind of wired in correctly, no hand controller so got a new one of those, and will be going right through the wiring when I get time.

Scored a eboost2 cheap of a friend as the car had no working boost gauge or controller.

I have purchased a atr43sat turbo from hypergear gear, getting a 6boost manifold and 50mm turbosmart gate to go with it.

Aiming for around 450+ hp as it is a neo motor.

Few other simple things that need fixing, only one speaker worked so I pulled apart all the doors etc and it was just a broken wire or unplugged wire, and my lucky day it has some very nice, but old alpine speakers with tweeters and cross overs, hooked up my new alpine mech free Bluetooth headunit and it sounds quite nice.

Things that need fixing, tacho doesn't work properly, I suspect it just needs to pins bent a bit.

Oil temp is not connected, nor water but that you can see through the microtech.

Pcv valve not connected, needs some rear seatbelts, windscreen wipers, washer bottle etc

Once all parts arrive and are fitted it will be off to the muffler shop for a high flow cat and rear muffler and a 2" screamer pipe with a cat and muffler also ;) 5 inch muffler all up should be enough.

Then off for a tune , I'll post some more pics as I go and feel free to ask any questions etc

And still waiting for my 460L walbro fuel pump, aeroflow oil cooler setup, and my hypergear atr43g4 sat turbo.

Damn it's going to be a busy week off [emoji6]

Anyone wanna come round drink beers and help out? Lol

Oh well, read a bit about it, not looked further but the pcv valve has be blocked off/not connected which that and the fact the guy I got the car from took it for a handful + of quick test drives probably added to it.

Happy days though, gives me a reason to take the head off!! Metal head gasket and arp studs then I guess [emoji16]

Might rip the motor out while I'm at it, new bearings and rings etc.. At least I know the motor will be fresh and handle the power I want [emoji16][emoji16][emoji16][emoji16]

Been lazy with updates so here goes

New wheels and tyres fitted

post-140799-14455073646863_thumb.jpg

New air box thanks to sau member, changed it a bit, added a nice stainless air cleaner as well and mounted my power steering and catch can.

post-140799-14455075047934_thumb.jpg

Put in arp head studs today and painted valve covers, trying to look as standard as possible and painted inlet manifold to suit.

And some more goodies so I can start to redo my cooler pipes, as the "shop" that made them did a terrible job and the shops got a good name....

Eboost 2 mounted and wired up

Fittings for turbo water lines as the dipshit that built the car before removed them for god knows why as the old turbo was water and oil..

A few busy days ahead and I'm throwing out the microtech and replacing with a haltech [emoji41]

After much cutting of both metal and bumper finally got this to fit nice, new 100mm thick cooler didn't help but all good now, not bolted in yet just test fit [emoji41]

Wheels are from here and they have just put the price up a bit.

Rear tyres I got from Taleb tyres on sau, great price and delivered real quick.l to the Gold Coast .

The air box I got from a sau member but I've changed it a bit and mounted my power steering to and my catch can.

I'm happy to pull it out and make a template for you , fits perfect but it has a 100mm intake so you might want to make that a bit smaller, and I'm running a proflow stainless air filter on the inside . It makes the engine bay nice and tidy and looks very professional.

Turbo and inlet manifold test fitted to run new intercooler pipes.

post-140799-14460004198864_thumb.jpg

Removed about a meter from original setup

Thanks for the offer but I'm not to confident at fabricatingthings just yet, I'll definitely keep a picture for when I get a bit more experience at custom making things.

I'll keep an eye on your thread, the engine bay is coming along really nicely!

    • Yes, I know🙄 but the sequential is not in my budget... don't want to reduce power neither, so looks like I'm stuck in the rabbit hole🤣
    • You’ll be very upset when you bust that too not to mention the gearing totally sucks. Don’t do it.
    • Is the panel filter one that is oiled? Have you ever cleaned or touched the AFM?
    • So.... the K&N air box thingo was too big, ended up gifting it to a mate, well, by gifting it he actually supplied food and beer at the pub,  which was nice, as it will not sit on a shelf in the garage for the next 10 years I did trim up some of the existing stuff to neaten it all up and gave it some wrinkle paint, unfortunately it currently has a used and abused mish mash of different types of hose clamps, 4 big fat T bolt type (shit), and a few normal clamps of vairing sizes and brands, but..... only until the 6 constant tension black worm clamps that I ordered from EFI solutions turn up next week Currently the current hose clamps are triggering me hard, LOL Is this the final version, probably not, I really want just 2 silicone pieces, a straight bit of silicone from the filter to the MAF is easy and will happen as soon as I head into Just Jap tomorrow, the problematic part is a 30° silicone bend from the MAF to the TB that I can connect the engine breather from the head, I found that there are bulk head fittings for boat bilge pumps that should work, but until I can get a 30° silicone bend the alloy pipe, and the 11ty thousand hose clamps, are there for the foreseeable future 4 hose clamps are golden, 6 are grudgingly acceptable, the 8 currently holding it all together is just taking the piss    I've also ordered 60 more retaining wall blocks for the front yard, I mis-gonculated the height that was required to get above the base of the Photinia's (red robin's) that are the hedge behind the front fence, currently it is 2 blocks high, and about 1/2 a block short, so going 3 blocks high will be above the base of the red robin's, and allow some room for mulch
