I decided to go and check out the MY2015/2016 Skoda Octavia RS162 wagon. Good quality and well put together wagon. Boot is acceptable but nothing will ever replace/come close to the M35 Stagea wagon (except a VF Commdore maybe)

Also saw a VW Golf R wagon (didn't know that was available for sale now; thought it would sometime next year). What a nice looking wagon!

Oh, Skoda Octavia will be coming out in an RS230 version soon, I think. Not sure if it'll be available here in Oz, but there's a test/drive feature in the latest Motor magazine (December 2015 issue).

Hi Nick T. I have been looking at the Skoda Octavia RS162 Wagon (DSG) but I am not sure if the smaller boot capacity and front wheel drive will eventually make me regret the purchase (hence the VW Golf R Wagon is attractive, though the boot is only marginally bigger than the Skoda Wagon)
