Hey there,

here's the situation. I became a Skyline owner about 5 months ago, bought it for 14,000€ (about 21,370 AUD). It's bone stock (except for a purposefull mod in form of a turbo timer from the pre-owner) and mechanically in absolutely mint condition, although the paint and wheels aren't in good condition.

A few days ago, a guy has approached me wanting to buy it. He offers me 18,000€ (about 27,480 AUD). I could sell the car and buy another one from the same trusted dealer with 25,000 km (15,535 Miles) less for 16,000€. I would get a nicer car AND gain 2000€.

I told him he can get a way nicer car for 2-3k less but he really seems to want my car as he comes from 150km (93 Miles) away just to SEE IT STANDING as it's not registered in the winter months. I suspect it's because I think it's the only red GTT in all of Germany but I'm not sure.

I came here because I've always found good advice from this and other Australian forums and I think Australians are the best source for how rare a certain type of Nissan is since the "concentration" of Skylines and the like is huge thanks to you being so close to Japan and driving on the same side of the road (I'm a tad jelly).

So here my question: How rare are red GTTs in your environment and do you think it will make a difference in value in a few years?

Cheers,

Andreas

    • It's funny, as Ive seen plenty of people use them in cheap builds on YT. And they actually go okay, even though a lot of other maxspeedingrods stuff is terrible. Those turbos seem reliable enough, the only part being, a good quality turbo that is "identical" to it, will out perform it day in and day out. In both a lower boost threshold, and the ability to flow more air at the same boost pressure. As a cheap cheap replacement, not a terrible choice. For cheap and shouldn't blow in a day, not terrible (like other eBay/Temu turbos) for low cost and still decent performance, that's where the question comes in to play from the results I've seen. I'd actually find it hilarious to buy one, and strap it to a paddock basher or some other cheap as POS originally NA car, and send it to the moon!
    • The maxpeedingrods turbo is cheap and bolts on to stock parts. I think you just need a bigger silicone coupler for the intake. Its a cheap china turbo, but it's been running on mine for almost 3 years at 16-19 psi.
    • What do they look like right after you've tried to start it with everything connected? Also post photos of what they actually look like.
