SiR_RB
I have a OS giken triple plate clutch, hasn't done too much work as the clutch plates still measure 4mm each in thickness Now I noticed, like all used clutches, that the flywheel and plates have slight heat marks/hot spots Would it be ok to get them ground/machined then reassemble and bolt it back in the car, or will this cause issues and I should just leave it the way it is ? Just want to make sure it's correct now before I install it Thanks Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/462930-hot-spots-on-clutch/ Share on other sites

tridentt150v
Was it shuddering? If not then leave it. Sometimes those hot spots can go deep. I had this done once [machining] and it caused other issues with throw out etc. Ended up having to get other stuff machined as well......ended up being almost easier and better if I'd bought a new clutch in the end. Wasn't on a Skyline though. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/462930-hot-spots-on-clutch/#findComment-7690661 Share on other sites
