Hey guys

Have been searching the crap out of these turbos for examples on a rb26, in particular using the t4 .84 turbine housing. Found some info on the 6262 but not anything for the 5862 so I'm guessing the 58mm is deemed to small for the rb26?..

Currently running a Borg Warner s362 fmw which I've put into a .84 t4 t/s housing to get more response however I think this abit too small for the large turbine wheel these run so probably not putting out the power it is cable of with a bigger housing (570bhp fly @ 1.5bar). So I'm looking at switching over to a precision hoping the smaller turbine wheel and roller bearing will give good response AND make good power without choking out in the .84 housing they are supplied with. The aim is a responsive 600-650bhp (fly) which can be a good all rounder for street/circuit/drag.

So interested to hear from guys who are running the above turbos but mainly the 6262

Cheers dan

Look in the Precision turbo thread down the page a little.

Hi Dan

I'm running a precision 6262 twin scroll journal bearing turbo on my r32 gtr and love it. My current combo is making 390 rwkw on a built 2.6 ltr with uni group cams and 800cc sard injectors through a power fc d jetro on pump 98. It's hitting full boost (21psi) at 4300rpm and keeps pulling till atleast 8000rpm. I did have a little lag between 2nd and third but my os giken close ratio gear set has fixed that. Car is currently at uni group getting an e flex tune on there new 4wd dyno should see 420 awkw hopefuly.

    • The filter only filters down to a specific size. Add to that, the filter is AFTER the pump. So it means everything starts breaking your pump even if its being filtered out.
    • Just like in being 14mm too small (296mm) makes it not fit, being 14mm too big (324mm) it also won't fit. You want to find the correct rotor.
    • @GTSBoy Ok so that was the shops problem...they showed R33 rotors on R34 page and i did not know 296 do not fit(and are for R33) Yes i bought "kit" with rotors and pads. Pads are ok(i have GTT calipers front and rear). They have some 324mm but no 310mm. So i dont know if they would fit. I have 17inch LMGT4s So another question. Can i fit those in the rear or they are just "too" big for that?
    • I started removing the tank a while back with the intent to give it a proper clean. Got to a bolt that I couldn't undo completely due to a diff being in the way, so just said f**k it and siphoned the gluggy old fuel out and called it a day. Looking it the tank it looks less corroded than the one in the pics for that billet hanger from Frenchy's anyway. Isn't it the fuel filters job to worry about this stuff? I scraped off most the crusty shit of the hanger but will give it another go before reinstall coz maybe the fuel and return pipes are also full of gunk
    • Pretty sure it is a common fault. I believe this is the only part you need, but don't quote me as I don't have a V36.  I also believe it is a bit of a pain to change and the device needs to be encoded to the car once it is replaced, so may need someone with the right tools.
